I have to admit I was amused watching the topic go from celibate clergy to masturbation to rabbits.

:bugeye:

Anyway: masturbation, self-gratification, wanking, spanking the monkey, flogging the dolphin, hauling the keel, steering the boat, oiling the mitt, coming in handy, diddling, doing the Blind Man's Yank, choking the chicken, going blind, appeasing the war dogs, singing Madame Butterfly, riding the horsey, fingerbanging, doing yourself, twiddling the twat, playing pocket-pool, jerking off, whacking it, plastic salamis, pocket-pussies, Exalting the Happy God, fixing the rod, cranking the shaft, pulling the Pauly, praying to the Clam Goddess, setting the E-brake, shifting the gears, playing with Pee-Wee, quick-draw, having a practice-round, cleaning the pipes, stoking the fire, ensuring a good night's sleep ....

It seems on people's mind, to judge by recent threads.

Ready?

Set?

Go!

It's time for Judging the Spankies.

Cast your aspersions, sing your praises ... just clean up after yourself. And, yes, it's a fair religion topic. I'm quite sure that if people were godless, they'd still masturbate. They just wouldn't be so uptight about it :D

Oh, here ...

Bonobo sexuality (Bonobos sometimes seek gratification as often as every 90 minutes, including copulation, oral sex, and self-gratification. Certainly this adds a juxtaposition to the debate: are we humans or bonobos? But such a perspective presupposes fundamental differences 'twixt humans and other animals which are not necessarily demonstrable. Is sexual gratification a need?)

So sound off. Is masturbation sinful? Is it a health hazard? Or should you flog it if you've got it?

That's the topic, so have at it.

enjoy,
Tiassa

Religion, other species, blah blah blah. Anyway, to the topic at hand...

I just wanted to make that joke. :)

***Is masturbation sinful?***

No.

***Is it a health hazard?***

Not if done in moderation and one is reasonably clean.

It'll do in a pinch once in a while but there ain't nothin like the real thing.

Indeed, Blonde Cupid ...

Moderation, indeed. I won't argue with the point.

What's scary, though, is that I went to school with kids that learned that masturbation would make you blind or give you hairy palms. (Ever see the Cheech & Chong routine on that one?)

thanx,
Tiassa

Tiassa you seem to have done much research on the subject. We should compare notes sometime:D

Not sure about the moderation bit.. Localised inflammation is probably the worst thing you could expect. Remember the parts involved are designed to take some punishment. You right about the hygiene tho specially we boys who're uncut

Well according to my religion, sex is supposed to be reserved for the institution of marriage. And in a sense masturbation is sex with one's self so I would have to say yeah it's a sin. Of course I never claimed to be a saint so don't think I'm judging anyone for it. I'm to busy trying to get that log out of my hand... er eye.

...there ain't nothin like the real thing.

This makes me wonder: Why isn't masterbation "the real thing"?

Because girls look good, feel good, and are good. Better to be with than without.

Adam ...

Then again ...

What's the best thing about fellatio?

Five minutes of quiet.

That joke aside, do we want a real answer? It has to do with biology. A more subjective answer has to do with anthropology. And the most subjective answer of all has to do with psychology. Well, there are more subjective offerings (e.g. religion) but I generally don't take them seriously.

thanx,
Tiassa

I want to write a play. Maybe set in ancient Rome. Include names such as Shakespeare might have used:

Fellatio.
The Roaming (Roman) Philosopher Syphilis.
Queen Chlamydia.

And so on...
