...And the cups and saucers are neatly set and untouched. It's as if Shorty's having a party all by herself. Shorty is an alien.

S.A.M., do you notice the red dot on my forehead? An old man in front of a
Hindu temple put it there for me. :thankyou: It's like in India, no? Do you also
have this type of red dot in certain day? The man also puts a yellow thread
on my wrist, because it was Gaijatra day! I still wear it, but it almost broken
now. The red dot disappeared in two days, though I tried to avoid washing
that part :p

Its a tika, its a way of giving respect, acknowldgement or welcome. Generally when you enter a temple they put a tika on you. They also do it if they are welcoming you and garlanding you. :)
