Are you just trying to make this thread's point by playing into the troll role? Or are you just oblivious to the problems here because you ARE the problem? No offense intended.

The one thing I have learned from this thread is just how important a dispute resolution sub forum is needed. One where a moderator can transfer [ with out prejudice ] any thread he/ she feels is in contravention of those rules. That subforum could then be used to sift through all the issues and reach a mediated resolution to what happens to the thread in question. Restricted to Membership view only.

This treats all posters seriously and of value, no matter how "crazy" they may appear to be to the moderator. No self esteem attacks or ego BS, just a call for the posters justification of thread continuance and where that thread should be placed most appropriately.

Take the heat out of the issue and in a timely manner deal with it with out the flak that would otherwise be in normal public/guest/ view.

So what if a thread stays off the main board for a few days....

issue a statement that reads thread moved to and for mediation.

Not hard to set up and the time needed would actually be less for the moderator as it is up to the Poster to justify the thread according to the rules.

To me this means that the members are treated equally regardless of relative merit.. The rules can be enforced with out the need to denigrate. Blame the rules not the person....

set up something similar for individual posts as well....
Don't like the rules then use procedure to change them or leave... simple

any ways this thread has been a great learning experience for every one and I thank all participants on my own behalf, so far for contributing..

This is a all well an good idea. But I am hesitant to think this would work rightly. You would think you are discussing a thread free of repercussions. Then in the other sub forums they would be more inclined to be "after you" IMO. I feel again IMO they the mods would get upset with certain free feelings an attitudes. Being expressed. I would not wish to add my vote to this.

Or aethelwulf, who is just another sock-puppet of a member who has been perma-banned twice for breaking forum rules as well as being a general drain on the time and resources of the moderation. I don't know you, and I'm not familiar with your posts, but I assume if you're walking hand-in-hand with the ne'er do wells found in this thread you're probably of their ilk. Certainly your choice to attack me rather than admit that you're conversing with a person who actually is a part of the problem only speaks to that point.

But this cast has largely been here from the jump, and every forum in the history of the internet has vitriolic posters. These guys aren't as bad as some others. Instead of moaning about them, maybe you should try to be a part of the solution. Maybe you should clean up your posting habits, set a higher standard for yourself. Do something to contribute instead of bitching about the people running the show, and stop being so fucking sensitive. If your post is stupid, people are going to treat you like you're stupid. It's the internet, that's how it goes. You aren't entitled to respect just for walking in the door, and nobody is obliged to treat you like anything less than a twit when you say something completely ignorant.

If I thought for a second you were legit, I would take it in a heartbeat. We all know aethelwulf is Reiku. Go read his crap in the Physics subforum. It's the same guy. I can only guess the reason he's even still here is because he's using an ID masker like a proxy.
