Theory of self-organisation?

Am I totally lost or is this theory new?

Read about the theory of self-organisation:
http://www.viten.com/nyviten/renard.htm
(scroll down for an english version of the article)

Is this theory accepted between scientists?

Are plants and animals some kind of self-organisation, and a response to the huge amounts of energy from the Sun?

Very interesting, sounds something like the Gaia Hypothesis. Many things are indeed self organizing, which either obviates the philosophical need for God or redefines it as something like the Tao.

Just to have mentioned it: This theory is often used as an argument for atheists against the theistic "Design-argument" in religionphilosophy. This is how I heard about the theory, and I decided to learn more about it.

This theory is nothing at all like the Gaia-hypothesis! The theory doesnt compare Earth as an "organism"

If you read the article and you know about thermodynamics, then this theory doesnt seem to argument anything against 2nd law of thermodynamics. And there is plentiful of examples for such mechanisms where the start-entropy is positive, while in the end the total entropy is negative. This is why I find this theory very interesting.
