WHY does anything exist?

Nothing exists ...it's all in your mind, everything, including me and this response to your question. You've dreamed up everything, everything.

If your question is one of intent then there is no evidence that it applies. If your question is really a 'how' question then nobody knows the answer or even if the question applies... think about it... have you ever seen 'nothing'? Is there an instance of 'nothing' anywhere in reality? IMO, the question "can 'nothing' exist" seems like the real question and the answer might be a resounding "no".

That question is very easy to answer. I am suprised that you asked it. An into to metaphysics huh? Why does anything exist? It exists because it exists because it exists... i'm sure this sort of train of thought will be explored if this truely is the question. Then again maybe I am wrong.

You really should think about this one for yourself o man of god.

Depends on what is meant by reason.
A cause (initiating event) or "motive".

Motives are human imaginings. Causes are more practical. Must the universe have a cause? Some people argue God's existence this way. But if the universe must have a cause, why doesn't God have a cause too?

One solution is "turtles all the way down" - a countably infinite array of Gods, each more creative than the last. But that's just silly, isn't it?

cause and effect are only applicable in sets. no relation to the universe at large. infinity cannot be comprehended because it has no basis in reality. it is a circle with four sides.
