I used to just go into the encyclopedia and edit, but now I'm told I have to be logged in...what's going on?
Not recently, thing is, I'm logged on to sf but the encyclopedia doesn't recognise it. I asked for a new password like 20 minutes ago and still haven't received one.
Oddly enough our SciForums accounts are not directly linked with the wikipedia, thus you must register for an account on it, then you may login and edit things  it makes no sense to me but alas this is how things are to derenzi Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
It's not odd at all if you've ever considered the technical hurdles, expenses, time drain and annoyance you would have to face to make both databases use one user table, or hack something together that looks like that to the outside world.
Hang on, I've contributed lots of stuff to the encyclopedia, edited and everything, all I used to do was open the page and, hey presto I could edit. This logging on stuff seems to be a recent phenomenon.
You probably did once before, right in the beginning. It saved a cookie and let you return to edit again and again without having to ask you to log in again. So you probably got used to it, I bet you just forgot., It doesn't even require an email to register as far as I know, just pick a user name and password and thats it. Hence its a vandals dream.....
Hi Tabla, Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! It is just this Illuminati thing , you were accepted in the first place , and you forgot to log out - so the browserdata (cookie) stayed in your PC and allowed you to contribute again and again ........... Silly you - you somehow logged out - and now you have to register a real account -and everytime you log in - your IP adress will be shown, so we can know everything about you , and call the FBI if necessary ........... Just make an account with your password and you will be accepted immediately .......unless you allready had an account with a password with your IP adress - in which case you might be banned ..... :m: Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
ToR and Nick. Please stop spamming in derailing a thread that has nothing to do with the vote for ToR campaign. I believe ToR created a thread specifically for her voting campaign. Lets keep it in that thread. Merci. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
