An excerpt from the email which my bf sent an hour ago about San Francisco:

"Germany is much more beautiful than USA. it is so dirty everywhere, lots of beggers and homeles people, very unfriendly people, u can feel dust on the roads ....., i was a bit shocked after i took taxi from airport to hotel.....and the city is a kind of hilly, i mean not flat like cologne, and there is no much greenery, looks like desert.... I have the feeling that law and order is not good like in germany, though i am still new here and have much to explore."

:(

Ok, I will stop hijacking this thread. Tak, if there is further reply, pls put it in our walls / visitor message, ja? :D

Thats interesting. Its the first thing I realised a few minutes after landing in England. The people are so friendly!. I was lugging a heavy suitcase and everytime I reached a flight of stairs [elevators and escalators being rare on the London underground], some chap/dame would pick it up for me and carry it up or down the stairs. That never happened even once in all the years I travelled in the US. Even the immgration was friendly and didn't once make me feel like a criminal for having a Muslim name. Again very different from the oft times unfriendly treatment in the US.

I happen to refresh the "new post", ouch. I have appointment with dentist tomorrow morning.

Yes, that is what I perceive everywhere in Europe, too! The people are soooo... gentle! If I have to write this here now, it will take days and nights describing. I have almost zero complaint about Germans/Germany or most European in general (even the French which people says bad). Among the friendliest are French! I still got this too many postcards with photos from my ex German and French neighbours eventhough we are only living few hours away. SAM, you should move here to Europe and be my neighbour :D.

I have to go, bye for now.

Living there and being just a tourist - there's a slight difference. I am from Europe and there are more prejudiced people than you'd like to see.

If you are staying in London, it won't last long. Airports and hotels are completely different from the kind of treatment you get in the real world. I have a Pakistani and Indian friend who live in London and are treated miserably.

Thats sad to know, I was just visiting there, but even outside the airport [no hotels, I have relatives], I found the English to be relatively warm and friendly.

Pfft, I should be number 1 on all y'all lists. So much for being attracted to sense of humour.;)

This is strange...

I was sure I saw the word 'penis' on this page somewhere, but I scrolled up and I can't find it anywhere...

Hallucinations maybe :D
