    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variable_speed_of_light

Notable attempts to incorporate a variable speed of light into physics have been made by Einstein in 1911, by Robert Dicke in 1957, and by several researchers starting from the late 1980s.

The speed of light in vacuum instead is considered a constant, and defined by the SI as 299792458 m/s. Variability of the speed of light is therefore equivalent with a variability of the SI meter and/or the SI second.

VSL should not be confused with faster than light theories; nor should it be confused with the fact that the speed of light in a medium is slower than the speed of light in vacuum depending on the medium's refractive index.

(“The principle of the constancy of the speed of light can be kept only when one restricts oneself to space-time regions of constant gravitational potential.”)

This has nothing to do with the theory presented in this thread pad .

Nowadays , he could be proved correct of the variability of the speed of light .

Yep, exactly, and again when one accepts the facts that it [SR] has predicted many validated effects [time dilation and length contraction] since that momentous year in 1905 that we call Einstein's "Annus mirabilis" year, which obviously is based on the consistency of "c", I believe its validation will be shown to be correct as accepted today.
And that is the $64,000 question!

Otherwise once again, all we have are hypotheticals and untested ideas and thoughts, as per so many others every day. Until then Occams razor will hold out.

Neither of these gets to the point of the video.

The point of the video is show that the speed of light is variable from the begining and that cosmological constant matters .

    from your article......
"Theory that challenges Einstein's physics could soon be put to the test"
Let us know how this hypothetical turns out, OK?

Glad to be of assistance. And for a special extra - no need to worry about a paywall re that OP link to a link to original Physics Review D article: https://arxiv.org/abs/1603.03312

You seem excited...guess what? The speed of light is still constant as far as we know, and as yet any hypothetical about variability is yet to be tested let alone confirmed, despite your video.

Yep Mick, the great man only referred at times to a "Spinoza God" or nature itself.
    Take it easy!

    I'm standing on his shoulders
On the corner of the street
In case a certain little light beam goes by
    Oh me
    Oh my
I hope the little light beam goes by
In my profession I'll work hard
Checking out the speed of light
    I'll find my E=Mc²
    And be alright
    Standing on his shoulders

Tempos off but what do you expect this time of night
