Ignore Feature

How many members do you have on Ignore?

  • Total voters
    14

I had about 10 people on ignore but took the all off about a week ago. Don't know why I did that.

It would be interesting to see a network diagram of who is and is not connected.
In larger forums you sometimes see several "cliques" who are ignoring all the people in the other clique. They are not very isolated on the diagram since there are so many inactive posters who don't ignore anyone. But if you graph just the 100 most frequent posters, you can see such patterns.

Never used ignore buton;;; i also dont use a add-blocker... but i do screen phone calls.!!!

Couple of days ago was expectin a call from wife an picked up on first ring... an it was the insurance man i talked to a few years ago... the guy who screwed up my insurance an caused me to get a premium bill i didnt owe.!!!

You can tell who (or how many) other posters have on ignore?

I have hardly ever used the ignore button personally.....

27

Trying to summarise why so many (???? Or is it ?)

If I had to put them under one grouping it would be CHESS PIGEON

:)

I have 10 on Ignore, but 2 no longer seem to post here. So 8 active "members" (and I use the term advisedly :D).

I don't use the Ignore function or even know how offhand.

I do tend to skim over long posts.

Some posters I don't pay much attention to because they don't seem to know what they're talking about. If they say something that's clearly wrong, I may correct them.

One poster in particular I don't pay much attention to because I can't figure out what he's on about, even though he seems to be fairly intelligent.

I always read posts that quote me and I reply if they need clarification or correction.

You can't even tell if another member has YOU on ignore.

THAT could be a good feature to add

No need to put a name (although OK if not to complicated) but a dot row in name panel and for each Iggy one dot flashes

I do alert the poster when I put on Iggy via *CLICK* or something like that

:)

I find the folk of most interest are the ones who I should have on ignore.

It is a strange group we find here no doubt but I do think all could benefit from knowing there are others who hold different views and rather than ignore them to take time to understand why they are different or why they come here to chat.
It is not everyday we can discuss science so we turn to other matters and to ignore there are views or approaches different to those we each hold fails yo take advantage of the benefit of open discussion.

Listen to the dull and the ignorant for they to have their story....this is where I fit in☺.

Listen to the dull and the ignorant for they to have their story

Don't mind if dull and ignorant post

You can generally pick those and reply in a suitable way

It is the dull and ignorant POST put into a thread when you suspect the poster is trying to be a smart clever arse and should know better

I don't mean the subject, know better the form of debate

Not knowing debate form leads to dull and ignorant POST and Iggy

:)
