Anybody else following "The Walking Dead" series on AMC

I've only actually read the first one (where Shane dies). My daughter has read them all and when we were discussing the show, she mentioned some of the other changes.

I'm still not sure that I want to invest in the books, but I am absolutely hooked by the show--been watching them since season 1, episode 1.
