You're absolutely correct, I don't disagree. The whole post was pompous and arrogant. Perhaps I was being a dick, but when he tells me I live in a fantasy world, I tend to take offense. So, it is best to analyze why, shed my ego hence forth from the relationship, and base it only on the facts. So I ended my post with a out right proposal of a truce of sorts. Do the same thing myself sometimes. Combined with a recognition of the fact that no person has the complete picture of what events really are transpiring, that approach appears adequate. Please consider the possibility that even if you should genuinely happen to see through some subterfuge which has convinced whichever person you were lambasting, there may be more layers of subterfuge than you immediately realise.

Oh absolutely! This is very wise. I love the way you think, for it is one of my axioms. Before I even start reading a source, I first try to determine the author, where the author is from, where the author was educated, and who is paying the author, (how the author makes their living, their motivation, etc.) One must always consider the motivation of the source. On top of this, one must consider that many authors may be fed information that is misleading, and many investigative journalists may believe their own reports. Some of the best reports that are false reports are ones where the reporters believe their own reports. This is the whole theory behind the mainstream media. Look at "embedded journalists." Mainstream media is not completely useless. What does manufactured news tell us? There are things in lies that tell us things as well. It's best to go with the old axiom, "Within all information there exists disinformation, and within all disinformation there exists information."

That just makes your opinions impossible to falsify by default. If you posit some conspiracy and it actually comes true, you would rightfully get credit for being correct. If it doesn't come to pass as has pretty much been the case with every James Bond plot you've suggested so far, you claim that bringing the alleged conspiracy to the public's attention helps prevent it from happening. Predict something drastically shocking and audacious that doesn't make it into the mainstream media until after the fact, and I'll actually take you seriously for once.

And it seems Israel's government is now well on the way to duplicating their success, so why complain? Doesn't seem to me like America is terribly interested in getting involved in this conflict especially after the mess in Iraq, and I can't blame them. Sanctions will be much more effective in any case- an Israeli attack won't have much effect in the long term other than delaying things a few months at best, costing them a big suicidal chunk of their air force, and pissing off hundreds of millions or billions around the globe.

Yes they are involved. Obama has stated that nothing is off the table. The covert war has already begun. We hope sanctions will be effective, but one never knows.
