It's that time of year again and my family have already started arguing and bitching about the same argument we have every year. So i am asking you lot, What time do you normally have Christmas Dinner????? If i had my way, we would eat the main meal at like 7 or 8 pm because let's be honest the thrill of christmas day ends after you eat, so why not prolong the christmas spirit for a few extra hours. My mother on the other hand wants to eat at 3pm. So what time do normal families eat Christmas Dinner??
1 pm - 2 pm Then leftovers for supper. (usually sandwiches with expensive bread , not plain white sandwich bread, and chips) I don't know anyone who has Christmas dinner at dinner time. Its usually a huge late lunch. Not near as late as 3 pm though.
I go to my parents for Christmas Dinner. It is usually a big feast. My mom always makes enough for 30 people. She usually makes a turkey with stuffing, sweet potatoes, gravey, coleslaw, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, corn, green beans, carrots. Desert is usually pie, cookies, trifle.
Play cards, boardgames, dominoes, watch a movie. Or we sit around and talk. Some of the family we haven't seen in a while so we catch up.
Yes, to my favorite sushi restaurant or I fix the lobster here sometimes and certainly when guests stop over.
I get way too hungry - so I will start cooking about 12 to serve at 3 or 4 pm. Doing a Rack of Lamb this year in Orange, garlic and herbs. Very excited!
Dinner is at my house..... I have no idea what I am making. I might make a Turkey. Or I might do my trick again and cook a really big Chicken and pass it off as Turkey lolol.
never had lamb or veal. Moral reasons. I just can't eat a baby. :bawl: I was wanting prime rib, but my husband invited all of his family over, so we are having turkey. Aurgh! I'd rather have glazed ham than turkey.
I tried veal by mistake. I thought I bought pork chops. This is when I was an amateur cook lol. It was DISGUSTING!!
