Well, I know fish have no eyelids. Could it have been a butterfly fish and a case of mistaken identity ?

Nah.. how could they have survived out of the water for so long ? Especially the one without the head.

Well you must communicate more clearly, You never said your box was not under water.

 

To be fair I have never seen butterflies under water :shrug:
I assumed it would be obvious that the box was on dry land..

So why do swimmers use the butterfly stroke if not to imitate a butterfly underwater ?

do butterflys actually have a centrolised nervious system?

if not then it would be more like saying could you exist without your arm which oviously you could (as long as you stoped the bleeding anyway
