IMPORTANT: SciForums Update - Report All Issues Here

workaround for post 460:
select all the contents of the quick reply box and delete it.
click post reply.
this clears the reply box.

the bad:
selecting the default style causes xenforo to replace the sciforums logo.
a good fix would be to overwrite that with the word sciforums, leaving the rest as is.
the good:
the default style also causes all embedded links to turn blue.

I tried to change my signature line. Now, it won't accept colored text or image uploads.

What is the problem? I thought that if you pay for the software you'd get a working product. Several members have never been able to make profile changes, but previously I had that privilege.

Did something change in your configuration, or is this a bug?

Edit: As well as the global mathjax implementation blowing parentheses out of the water... Why hasn't that been fixed?

mathjax is likely much more secure than a php plugin that connects to on-box $$\LaTeX$$. It's less tricky to support as offsite javascript does all the work and the package is not locally maintained.

There likely is some database-level weirdness during the multiple regimes that explains why some users have less options than others. It's a site with a long history.

The mathjax plugin is configured to accept both dollar signs and parentheses with backslashes as delimiters, so occasionally some post with multiple dollars signs is parsed as $$\LaTeX$$. This is suboptimal.

Your argument that paid support is better than freeware support ignores many issues that don't bite you in obvious ways like database compromise. It also argues against giving you timely support until you cough up operating expenses. :) Don't pick on the volunteers.

Thank you. I wonder why it changed,, though...

The LaTeX quirks I can live with, just curious.

um I just kind of noticed this but when i edit a post to remove a hanging blocks to set a quote it doesn't go through.
