I still give it a thumbs down for they had their chance and blew it. That was awhile ago and they thought they could take on anyone, but they were very suprised at what they incurred.

Let's try and separate the generalized view from the specific. There are moderates in the islamic world - who are generally treated like pariahs and traitors at best, targets at worst - but they exist.

Didn't actually bother to read how and why the children are starving did you?

Not surprising, considering your tendency to make up your mind before looking at any facts.

The lesson is this: don't let religion rule the world with its superstitions and delusions.

Agreed, SkinWalker, but that means ANY religion. (Q) was implying that only Islam would throw the world back to the Dark Ages, but History disagrees.

Christianity is threatening to do the same in the United States. I think (Q) would agree with me on that.

I'm guessing you've not read much Shakespeare:

"To bait fish withal: if it will feed nothing else,
it will feed my revenge. He hath disgraced me, and
hindered me half a million; laughed at my losses,
mocked at my gains, scorned my nation, thwarted my
bargains, cooled my friends, heated mine
enemies; and what's his reason? I am a Jew. Hath
not a Jew eyes? hath not a Jew hands, organs,
dimensions, senses, affections, passions? fed with
the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject
to the same diseases, healed by the same means,
warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as
a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed?
if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison
us, do we not die? and if you wrong us, shall we not
revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will
resemble you in that. If a Jew wrong a Christian,
what is his humility? Revenge. If a Christian
wrong a Jew, what should his sufferance be by
Christian example? Why, revenge. The villany you
teach me, I will execute, and it shall go hard but I
    will better the instruction."

I implied no such thing. Any monotheism, given free reign, would do the same thing, as Skinwalker aptly points out. I was referring to the article (duh) in which a megalomaniac would like to see his brand of religion ruling the world; i.e. HE most likely wants to rule the world using Islam as his platform.

We don't need a repeat of the Dark Ages, which is exactly what would happen.

Let me guess "capitalism". Probably that sneaky capitol made the Chinese and North Koreans starve too?

When the Christians of Europe suffered the Dark Ages, the people under the Islamic empire contributed innumerable advances in ample branches of science and mathematics at the exact same time.

The problem isn't Islam, because people back then were more devoted and religious to Islam than any of us will be today. The problem is politics and how you choose to interpret your religion. The same goes for Christianity, Judaism, etc.

What? That many Chinese and Koreans starved to death? They did. An estimated 5 million NK starved to death (3.5m North Koreans starved to death). Must of been that "corporate globalism" - which is also starving 27,000 children everyday? It feeds off their tears.

    Wasn't that your assertion?
Funny that corporate globalism made Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Germany, France, England, etc.. etc.. etc.. wealthy, but it was only by starving children to death? I suppose SK must have been starving the NK to get rich! That's it!

People have been starving to death for millennia Sam. Long before "corporate globalism". Here lets read what happened during the "Islamic" Golden Age according to wiki

The difference in attitudes of Byzantine scientists and their medieval Muslim peers was firm. Byzantium added little to no new knowledge of science of medicine to the Greco-Roman scientific tradition, stagnating in awe of their classical predecessors. This could perhaps be explained by the fact that the initial Islamic surge out of Arabia had captured three of its most productive cities: Alexandria, Carthage, and Antioch. Because of the loss of a highly skilled and centralized government, as well as continuous and devastating Arab conquests into Anatolia, most Byzantine cities could not support the arts and sciences, and there was a mass return to subsistence farming.

Yes one world under Islam - how wonderful.:bugeye:

Anyway, back to corporate globalism: Heel Toyota now sit Toyota! Good Toyota, Bad Sony! *rubs Sony's nose in it* Bad Apple Bad Apple .. ... ... bloody Apple starving children to death... ...

I disagree, the thread is about ruling the world. My money is on the guy from the street, the one who crawls from the gutter will always survive. Plus he is usually smarter...where it really counts. He is a fighter, a survivor.
