I believe magic does not exist. It is a trick designed to fool the observer. It is sleight of hand, or something else, but real magic does not exist.

Think of a number. Add ten. Subtract the number you were originally thinking of. The number you have is ten.

Sleight of hand should not be referred to as "magic", it's just mechanics.

    Exactly. Does real magic exist?

Magic exists; there's an entire field of study devoted to entertaining people with tricks that appear to be impossible.

You might be referring to paranormal, or supernatural, events, which don't exist.

Seriously? You want to say that Clarke's definition of magic should be reworded to avoid confusion with cheap stage tricks?

Nope. Pretty much everyone understands that magic is entertainment, not supernatural or paranormal influence over things.

"Hey, want to see a magic show?"
"Really? He can really alter reality? How is that possible?"

. . . that conversation pretty much never happens.

if you have already decided that you "believe" that magic does not exist,
why are you asking other people if it does ?
are you trying to build a fan club ?

sulking in managed amounts without assigning or asserting guilt is probably therapeutic.

Trying believing in reality, there's a hell of lot more chance of succeeding.

The double-slit experiment. Everything occurs in multiple states.

Yeah, for me that's Indiana and Missouri. But in the physics sense it's a non sequitur for this conversation.
