Astonishing news!!! ... possibly. David Gergen, a Republican and a super heavy-weight, having worked for 4 Presidents and highly respected Professor at Harvard, is not your typical commentator. He is about as good as it gets and as well connected as anyone. According to Gergen [just now on CNN], a source tells him that Trump is disoriented and perhaps losing interest in being President. He is also said to be going through bouts of depression. As the election gets closer he may be realizing that this is not a job he really wants, Gergen concluded.

Many people are saying [actually true] that the tide really shifted with the Kahn incident.

Wouldn't it be poetic justice if a Muslim with a copy of the Constitution in his hand took out Trump!

Mr. Kahn's scathing indictment of Trump, delivered while shaking a copy of the Constitution at the camera, may one for the history books and how this election is remembered. I hope so! That would be a fitting ending to this horrific episode in US history.

David Gergen is one of the people significantly responsible for the consolidation of the current Republican electoral base and the development of the current slimeball Republican media operations, the key factors in giving us Donald Trump.

He was the main speechwriter for Nixon, responsible for selling the Southern Strategy, and Director of Communications for Reagan, responsible for selling the culmination of the Southern Strategy and the "voodoo economics" (Supply Side con job) by which Reagan crippled the US economy for a generation now.

The likely suspicion is that he is engaging in wishful thinking - although we all hope he is right about Trump, his obvious motive in denying his role, covering his ass, and deflecting attention from his record of public "service", has to be figured into anything he says now.

    Trump is his baby.

Yeah, like wow. Republican dishonesty has no bounds. Unfortunately, it's very easy to manipulate video images these days.

Gergen's Wikipedia documented career is a conspiracy theory? The thirty year record of the Republican Party's behavior is a conspiracy theory?

Seriously: ordinary history and the public record is now labeled a "conspiracy theory". That's how deep a hole this country is in.
