Premonitions for 2013

Extracted from www.mirror.co.uk. (5/6/2013):

"So far all the smart money has been on Kate and William’s first-born being a girl.

But the Sunday People can reveal that Prince Harry is telling close friends the Royal couple are expecting a BOY.

The delighted Prince is so excited about becoming an uncle that he couldn’t help revealing the sex of the child.

And while The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have made no official comment about the baby due in mid-July, Harry has found it hard to keep the secret.

A source close to the Prince told the Sunday People: “Harry has been telling everyone Wills and Kate are having a boy and how thrilled he is at the prospect of having a little nephew.

“He said the whole family were excited about it. Apparently Kate has always wanted a boy.

“They’re really working hard on baby names now and think they have it sorted.

“But they won’t reveal anything to *anyone – not even Harry. Of course, Harry’s been making up crazy suggestions and winding them up too.

“The close inner circle all know that it’s a boy and they’re busily buying gifts with a boy theme. There will be an awful lot if blue in their house.”

Officially, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have refused to divulge the sex of their new arrival.

But seven-months-pregnant Kate has dropped a couple of hints.

In March she sparked frenzied speculation that made headlines around the world when she appeared to accidentally suggest that a girl was on the way.

It happened during a walkabout in Grimsby, when Kate was presented with a teddy by a local well-wisher.

She thanked the woman for the gift and said: “I will take that for my d..” – and then stopped herself.

A nearby listener said: “You were going to say daughter, weren’t you?”

Kate replied: “No, we don’t know.”

Prince William’s cousin Princess Eugenie has also been telling friends that the baby is a boy, according to sources.

If it's a boy, he'll have a grandfather called Charles Phillip Arthur George, so George isn't a big stretch to be in there somewhere.

James and George are the main names that people had bet on.

Err, most people in England already know the royal baby is a boy by the way, so don't waste any money betting on girls names.

Any of James, Steven or Richard might be worth a punt.

It's a bookie's free lunch.
And a mug's bet.
Could be any sensible name.

My psychic powers say it definitely won't be Kevin, Dwayne, Leroy, Tracy, Candice, or Sharon.
Elizabeth.
If it is a girl, I would put that as favourite.
When she becomes queen in 2050, she will be Elizabeth III.

I’d say your psychic powers are spot-on. But I would love to see a King Kevin or a King Dwayne or a King Leroy or a King Bubba or how about a Queen Tashaonda or Queen Lataesha. Those names have a certain je ne sais quoi that I find appealing. They would definitely be more exciting than the standard list of royal names that are endlessly repeated.

But the repetition evokes a sense of history.
Imagine a Victoria II.

Another prediction.
If it's a boy, he won't be called Kong.

Unfortunately I have to agree, and the monarchy is all about history. It's their whole raison d’être. But I think a King Kong would be kind of cool. And then we could have Kong the II and Kong the III and so on.

More psychic premonitions.

No dogs names either.
Blackie, Sandy, Rover, Fluffy, Rex, Max, Biscuit, Scrappy, Lady.
No chance.

Oddly enough the baby maybe called Prince for a while.

I'm not writing about premonitions now. I would love to bet on the name of this newborn baby.
If I was in London now, I would bet on the name of John. That's not a Royal name, but why not?
Anyway the name of George will be the second or third name of this boy who will be born in July of 2013.

Yes we have had a king John, but it is unlikely for the royal baby because history does not remember king Jonh kindly, he is the classic uber villain in many versions of the Robin hood story. Said to be the tyrant brother of Richard the Lion Heart, who was altogether far more kindly remembered.

Why don't you follow up on your premonition with a bet online?
You can get 66-1 on John

If his first name is John, I will start to believe that you are psychic.
It is very unlikely.
George may well be in there somewhere in the long list, so no Psi points for that.
I hope it's not the first name. That would be incredibly boring.

I don't understand why Alexandra is so short odds,
though it is a lovely name.
Maybe someone has some inside information.

Another prediction.
The baby won't be named after an old computer.
So not Dragon, Spectrum, Atmos, or BBC Micro.

Mmmh....
If she gets married to a woman, will the woman also be Queen?

OK, I'll have a look at it.

Thank you for these historical details about King John.

Sampson, Richard, or John....

John is both religious and the name of Dianas Dad.

@ Captain Kremmen,

If it is a boy who grows up and marries a boy...... They will both be queens.

King George VI names were: Albert, Frederick, Arthur, George. It seems that anyone thinks of Frederick or Albert as a good option.
