Most epic end to a presidential campaign in the history of US politics:

And then a couple of days ago he repeated it, but this time acknowledging the proper source material (it was a slap in the face to Pokémon lovers around the world when he merely attributed it to "a poet"). The moment was so inspiring, it even made Jon Stewart's nipples go stiff. Not because he quoted from "the Pokémon movie", but because he messed it up. Forget about the Chinese nukes ignorance, the malfunctioning lady-seeking hands, and all that other secondary crap. What matters most is that America will never elect a president who can't get his parting lines straight. It was supposed to go like this:

    Then he could invade Beckie-beckie-beckiestan.

The guy is a never ending source of humor - kinda like fellow Republican George Jr.

    Are You Hermanated?

One thing I noticed is that the press seems to be taking the suggestion seriously, though if only to cluck and chuckle. In that case, Joe, you are correct and the media is missing the point:

The Herman Cain campaign is an art project about running for president. That much is clear. But the thing that is underappreciated, the thing that I think deserves some attention, even maybe from the art world, is that this is not just an art project, this is a really good art project.

It's just another dumb-assed thing to say because Herman Cain knows it will make headlines.

The Hermanator is now decked out as the new Palinator.

    Are we experienced?

I mean you really have to chuckle about this stuff. And to think there are people who wanted, and some still do, for this man to be president of The United States. And then these very same people cry RINO and play the victim card when he screws things up as well he would should he become POTUS. I mean it takes talent to turn an 100+ million dollar business into a 30 million dollar business in a few years.

Epilogue: Herman Cain and the Deadly Peckers

Epilogue: Herman Cain and the Deadly Peckers

It's hard to figure out just what Herman Cain is up to insofar as the great political performance art project continues. Or, as Dave Weigel puts it:

Next step: Gullible political writers asking what the hell Cain is doing. After this: Animal rights advocates getting outraged. And soon, a video of a water buffalo being dropped into a pit of quicksand and broken glass, or something along these lines.

What are we supposed to say of a political campaign that just brought us a man being pecked to death by chickens?

It is an interesting overhead reduction, though. In offering up this kind of self-demeaning satire, Herman Cain has cut out the middle man. Nothing a comedian can come up with will compare to the real thing.
