I think Trump is most reminiscent of Andrew Jackson if we are to compare him to any previous President.

    Different drugs.

Trump's abstention from alcohol, btw, may be a significant difference between him and Andrew Jackson.

I think Trump's a dumbed down version of Nixon.

If anything, Trump is more like Andrew Johnson (number 17) - Andrew Jackson (number 7) wasn't all that bad.

If memory serves, Jackson actually worked to give power back to the public... And even made his inaugural dinner open to the public, including the lower classes.

I'm guessing people were hoping Trump would be Jackson... And instead he's a Johnson (in more than one sense of the word!)

I was watching a series of documentaries about all of the Presidents and I thought Jackson was a good fit. Not in every way of course. There will be distinctions in any comparison just as everyone has some good traits as well.

I agree with the comparison to Andrew Johnson as well.
