If we want China to deal with North Korea.
Then we should let China deal with North Korea.
    Their way!

IMO Tillerson should not have visited those who fear North Korea first--------It most likely tilted his perspective.

China's dealing with Japan and Russia here. They are, to some large but indefinite extent, using Korea.
Tillerson has been reasonably familiar, from an insider's perspective, with the Korea/China situation for many years now - especially as it relates to the oil reserves in the neighborhood of the Senkaku Islands, and the extra motivation they provide for Chinese nationalist claims on the Ryukyu Islands, Okinawa, et al. His extensive dealings with the the politics of the Russian, SE Asian, and ME oil industry ensure that.

His perspective on oil related matters is not whimsically tilted by whoever he just talked to.

It's just that his interests and those of the ordinary American citizen are not necessarily aligned.

That's what the Trump voters wanted.
