Ugh...have you not been to South Phoenix...Detroit...Compton...the Bronx...El Paso...some of Houston...Glendale...Santa Fe...Tucson.... As many people are murdered there that are unreported as Iraq. Actually where I am living now; I can't even enter Guadalupe and come out alive. No joke. Probably the most dangerous place in the world for a white guy with a kippah.
Of course not. Nor would I be thanking my stars if the US was as Iraq was before the war. You know the history as well as i (probably better), the 2nd Iraq war was the completion of the 1st. Saddam never satisfied the terms of the cease fire, he was warned many, many times. Yet he refused to comply. He started the 1st gulf war, not us. All the suffering and death is on him.
Don't forget this bit of history: Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! You were supporting him, as you support many dictators. And with torture camps, enhanced interrogation and rendition, you've surpassed him. So by your own criteria, you should be treated worse than the Afghanis and Iraqis [who are innocent victims of your lust for oil and power] And now you're considered worse than the Taliban http://www.iwpr.net/?p=arr&s=f&o=346398&apc_state=henh
Hey sam; I have got to ask. You spend most of your time in a lab...have you ever actually stepped outside and seen the real world? Experience human communication? Had a moment of joy in your life? Although SAM proves a good point We need to STOP doing relations with these nations. Tell them the demands and then enforce.
SAM I dont believe you understand the difference between the American invasion of Iraq and the Russian invasion of Georgia. Iraq was ruled by a dictator believed to have weapons of mass destruction in his possession. He ran an oppressive government and caused instability in the Middle East, alerady having provoked a war over Kuwait's territorial integrity. Georgia, on the other hand, is a democracy, a friendly country that is bothersome to none. Georgia was not believed to have nukes. But you and most other anti-Americans treat both invasions the exact same way. Now that we know for certain that there were no WMDs in Iraq, it is easy to say that we should not have invaded. But, as they say, hindsight is always 20/20. We didnt know that in 2003. Saddam Hussein purposely propagated suspicions that he had WMDs. he bluffed to make people think that Iraq was a power to be reckoned with. And he underestimated the American response. That was the price he paid for bluffing.
Saddam was a US ally. He got too big for his boots by converting his oil to euros and the US kicked him out. They also killed a million Iraqis, excluding 500,000 children who died under US imposed UN sanctions and are running torture camps where they torture people to death. The Iraqis want the US out. Russia is an ally of S Ossetia. They asked the UN to help when Georgia invaded S.O. The UN was too busy, so Russia did it itself. The S.O. want the Russians to help. Yup I see the difference. Do you?
Russia jammed Georgian media, and the ability to communicate at all. What else do we not know? The US allowed for reporters to travel with military companies...
Your best have already served. Funny to watch you defend your lower station as being intellectually defensible on its own merits. Heh.
He was an ally of sorts, it's true. So was Stalin. You can't always choose who you play with in global politics. But saying we've surpassed his brutality is dishonest. Some detainee's have been tortured. Not many. Is that to our credit, no. But are you really claiming that the torture holds a candle to the torture performed by Saddam? Really? Of course not, you just take a few instances and blow them all out of proportion. By that one guy. Ok. I'm sure there were people who prefered Hitler over the Wiemar Republic. We were entirely justified in attacking Afghanistan. That we've stayed to help rebuild should be considered in our favor. Yet you complain about our occupation of Afghanistan as well. We could have just bombed the place into oblivion and been done with it. But we're there trying to turn things around. Do they have oil in Afghanistan?
Oh you have something that beats sodomising kids in front of their parents to get "confessions"? Beating people to death so their legs look like they've had a truck pass over it? Without a gag? Which means all the fat arses are sipping coke next door and jerking off to their screams? Do you think anyone who has a problem with the US should just bomb it? And later "help to rebuild it"? It worked for Japan and Germany. Think it'll work for the US? Which cities would be good targets, do you think? How many of them? How many people would have to die before the Americans surrendered? A ball park figure?
SAM, at the time of the first gulf war (1991) there was no such thing as a Euro. So your whole theory is shot to hell.
Whine all you want. It makes you feel like you own power you don't actually own. Otherwise you'd be bragging about how accomplished y'all are.
No, the first Gulf war was fought to return Kuwait to the Kuwaitis. Like returning South Ossetia to the South Ossetians. I'm talking about after the Americans killed 500,000 Iraqi children whose major public health problem before American intervention was obesity. I believe the deaths were from malnutrition and easily treated childhood disorders. A great number of the deaths was under the age of 5. So how long can Russia bomb Georgia? If the US can bomb Iran?
If those things were done, they were done by criminals. Those actions are not official US policy and you know it. But they were official Iraqi policy under Sadam. That, and worse.l There will always be people who go too far, who commit atrocities in war. But, as I said, Sadam started it. It's all on him. He invaded Kuwait, and then didn't live up to his end of the cease fire. Since he (apparently) didn't even have WMD's, all he had to do was admit that and cooperate with the inspectors. But, he didn't want to do that for fear of losing face with his enemies. Of course not. We have been trying to deal with Iran without using force. It's simply not working. I don't really even support an attack on Iran. We're a bit over-stretched as it is, and I still think we should try other methods, perhaps supporting pro-democracy groups within Iran. Or maybe covertly sabotaging the Iranian nukes and then blaming it on the Dutch! Maybe that's what's really happening here. I'd say about 6.692 billion.
The camps are still open aren't they? Besides: http://www.mcclatchydc.com/homepage/story/24654.html http://ccrjustice.org/newsroom/press-releases/judges-dismiss-suit-seeking-damages-guantanamo-torture Its official policy. You're all criminals, which is why you'll never sign up for the ICC. You wouldn't dare.
im sorry mad but the US president REFUSED to rule actions which are seen internationally as toture as being 100% illegal. There for they ARE offical policy, yes some of there actions may have been juged illegal for the sake of political expediance but i have NO respect for the policies which remain
You're refering to gitmo and which other camps? And I checked your links. The "torture" ruled unavoidable and expected that the detainee's were complaining of was: Not quite what you were implying earlier, is it? No broken bones, no sodomy. First of all, I would never support signing the ICC on general principles. But what, exactly, do you mean when you say we're all criminals? Do you mean all US citizens? What about US residents? Or what? What exactly do you mean by saying we're all criminals?
You mean nuclear bomb? No way. It is a joke that they want to learn nuclear engineering when they have massive oil and gas reserves. It is also interesting that in the land of Zarathustra, the evil people now dominate the government. Therefore they must be eliminated.
