The midget who played Wicket and the guy from Willow, died today at 46 years old.

I can find no reference to this. Have you got an online source?

Certainly it's very sad news if true, I was a big fan of his and hoped to meet him some day.

He ran an agency for midgets in the entertainment industry, despite which he still bagged some of the choicest parts for himself! Including two roles in the Harry Potter franchise.

Alive or dead, he's 36, by the way, not 46. He was just 9 when playing Wicket in Empire.

It wasn't Warwick Davis, it was Michael Gilden. He was 44. Another dwarf suicide, it's so sad. David Rappaport was a phenomenal screen presence, who was just getting into his stride as a successful actor when he killed himself.

Actually, He was 11 years old when he first played Wicket. Look at his page on wikipedia, and you will see that. Also, the site says he died on January 2nd, 2007, which I'm pretty sure is not true, since there is nothing else on the internet about it.

    Don't recognize him.

    Long live Willow!
    Or does he?

But the article doesn't mention cause of death or even the death at all other than this line on his widow....
I wonder if the guy who edited this into his page confused his dwarves?
    That's kinda sad.

I bet it's a misunderstanding. The both of them had parts in Return of the Jedi, apparently.

    Read Silas' post above.
It is not Warwick Davis that died, but Michael Gilden.
Both apparently played ewoks in Return of the Jedi, but it was Davis that played wicket.

Although, it is possible that Davis died too?
Gilden apparently killed himself on Dec 5, 2006.
Davis's home page hasn't been updated for awhile...
    http://www.warwickdavis.co.uk/

But no mention of his death appears in a google search.

'Twould appear to be a mystery.

Ah ok. Well it looks as though Michael Gilden did die if the orbituary in LA Times (online) are anything to go by. Link

My husband will be saddened. Both he and Davis' were some of his favourite actors and always thought that both should have been cast in the roll of the hobbits in The Lord of the Rings movies instead of the 'mamby pamby big eyed twerp who can't act' (he's a big Tolkien fan lol and was mortified by the casting of the hobbits).

I haven't seen any information about Davis death, so I'd guess he's still alive.
