Rene Magritte....Salvador Dali...etc. Blake was very spiritual , he was linked to the feminine consciousness Dominic
We must start a Surrealist fan club.......could it be that they were painting the notion of the unconscious,,drawing towards the conscious....,pure psychic automation..the real function of the mind..... intellectual androgyny..... Does anyone know about the notion of figurative Surrealism?...... DominicPlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Dali's paintings are awesome but...... MC Escher I also love the one with the hand drawing the hand drawing. A sampling of his work:
I got to see a vangogh exhibit in chicago a year ago or so. I have always loved art but I wasn't prepared to be so completely taken with some of his paintings. It is a cliche but seeing a print or picture in a book does absolutely no justice to the beauty. There are many others but one that has always stayed with me was one I saw as a child called the triumph of death. A gigantic display of grim reapers on a path of destruction. Awesome.
There are some great paintings and artists coming through.... Surrealism seems very popular, have you seen Delvaux..the village of the sirens..and ENCHER..Still Life. Grey..or anyone else have any paintings of Edward Hopper thankyou allPlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Grey seal, thanks for that link to the triumph of death. I hadn't seen it in awhile. I wonder if I could get a big-ass print of it somewhere.
