    that is a great song . One of my favs.

    This is my mood today and it is not a reflection of my friend on S.F. but to the latest facts of human behavior I have come to realize.

    You all are the greatest cause you let Me rant and rage. That is big . Very big

    How'd we miss Burns day?

    A Man's A Man For A That – Robert Burns

    Is there for honest Poverty that hings his head, an' a' that;
    The coward slave-we pass him by, we dare be poor for a' that!
    For a' that, an' a' that. Our toils obscure an' a' that,
    The rank is but the guinea's stamp, the Man's the gowd for a' that.

    What though on hamely fare we dine, wear hoddin grey, an' a that;
    Gie fools their silks, and knaves their wine; A Man's a Man for a' that:
    For a' that, and a' that, Their tinsel show, an' a' that;
    The honest man, tho' e'er sae poor, is king o' men for a' that.

    Ye see yon birkie, ca'd a lord, wha struts, an' stares, an' a' that;
    Tho' hundreds worship at his word, he's but a coof for a' that:
    For a' that, an' a' that, his ribband, star, an' a' that:
    The man o' independent mind he looks an' laughs at a' that.

    A prince can mak a belted knight, a marquis, duke, an' a' that;
    But an honest man's abon his might, Gude faith, he maunna fa' that!
    For a' that, an' a' that, Their dignities an' a' that;
    The pith o' sense, an' pride o' worth, Are higher rank than a' that.

    Then let us pray that come it may, (As come it will for a' that,)
    That Sense and Worth, o'er a' the earth, Shall bear the gree, an' a' that.
    For a' that, an' a' that, It's coming yet for a' that,
    That Man to Man, the world o'er, Shall brothers be for a' that.

    If you wear a tiara with it you'll look like a princess, you'd have that whole "Breakfast at Tiffany's" vibe going. Argg! Sorry you distracted me, Song of the day? I guess this song relates to me and many other guys around here.

    "Where No One Knows Me" by Jann Arden.

    This may be the best "Goddamn it I'm leavin' and I'm never comin' back" song of all time.

    "I tore the rear-view mirror down,
    And wrapped it in my wedding gown."

    I suppose she appeals more to women, but I've always been a girl-singer junkie, all the way back to Julie London and Connie Francis.

    Jann Arden is one of the biggest stars in Canada, pretty nearly in Sarah McLachlan's league at home. Sarah even did a duet with her. She plays in hockey stadiums and has had her own TV specials. But except for "Insensitive" back in the mid-1990s, she's never gathered a fan base here. That means she'll never tour the USA and I'll probably never get to see her. A star like that isn't going to do a club tour.

    Got my hands on the wheel, got my foot on the pedal.
    Gonna ride till I drop, till the tires turn to metal.
    Gonna sleep when I'm dead, gonna laugh like the devil.
    Gonna find some place where no one knows me.

    Gonna stop when the last drop of gas turns to vapor.
    Gonna ride till I can't even seem to remember
    Who I was when I left 'cause it won't even matter.
    Gonna find some place where no one knows me.

    There seems to be a number of entries, if not nearly all of them dedicated to what might be classified in 'classic rock' or music 40,50+ years old, this was noted b Fraggle Rocker 3 years ago and remains as true today.

    I enjoy a lot of the old Jazz fusion albums and some of the progressive rock, most of what was popular in the 70's was of the 'pop' kind. The roots of it -- a dedication to classical structure, jazzy chordal progression, and the art of the long song -- still live on. Here's one rather accessible track which I've enjoyed for quite some time.

    Admittedly, it's nearly a decade old.

    At least I post albums while the majority do not.

    Since you took the time to see which songs I've posted and found all of them not worth while that means that you have your opinions about what you enjoy and everyone else has theirs. I didn't see anyone else but you complain about the songs I've posted so it must be you that has a problem with them and no one else. Makes me wonder why you're the only one who doesn't like them doesn't it to you too?:shrug:

    I question how many people come here to hear others suggestions, and how many people come to give their own opinions. Of the latter category you seem to be the most prolific, which is why I targeted you.

    Here's another relatively humorous progressive modern track with clear influences stemming from Zappa.

    Or if we really must be stuck in the past, let's at least be stuck in a good past. This one featuring a nice solo by trombonist Bill Watrous.
