Who ever tried to create a brand new language ?

    I don't know the specific time period, but there was once a huge migration of Italians to Argentina. Spanish and Italian are so closely related that in Buenos Aires they quickly developed a creole that native speakers of both languages could learn to understand rather easily.

    When I lived in Los Angeles there was a fabulous Italian restaurant named "La Strega" ("the witch") run by Argentines, and occasionally I heard them speaking this creole among themselves.
