That's ridiculous. Let's hypothetically say it is true that there is a intelligence difference. There would be a lot of black people who are over the average in IQ or whatever measurement you prefer who suffer because of it. Have you ever heard variation within groups is greater than variation between groups? There will never be any use to knowing racial group averages. It will always be necessary to evaluate at a individual level.

If some idea like this became accepted the consequences would be very ugly. There would almost certainly be race based violence, tension, and discrimination on a large scale. And sadly, a lot of impressionable people will already accept the nonsense Watson said.

Suppose you found out that Irishmen were less intelligent white people, on average.

Would it make any difference, to anyone, about anything? Would the Irish go back to being black, and oppressed, as they once were?

A small and dubious statistical correlation between "intelligence",whatever that is, and melanin concentration in the epidermis, has got to be about the least consequential piece of information I can imagine uncovering about human beings. There's no mechanism, no implications, nothing - do people who tan get stupid?

If anybody cares, the inverse correlation between blood lead levels in childhood and intelligence test scores in adulthood is strong and well documented - and has that most important of features for a meaningful scientific correlation: explanatory mechanism.

Violent crime, incarceration, and traumatic injury also well correlate with lead exposure. So do a variety of health problems also - coincidently or not - unequally distributed among the "races" of North America.

And if anybody cares further, the correlation between self-labeled race and blood lead levels in childhood in the US is also well established, and strong. And it, too, has an actual mechanism - sources of lead exposure are surrounded by cheaper housing, on average, and the despised descendents of slaves more often live in cheaper housing.

But if it makes some people's day to define a "race" and declare it "stupid" for some reason, there's probably no stopping them.

I completely agree. But what about a large and solid statistical correlation? As I've said, I don't know of any such thing. But might it be important knowledge? For some reason? Who knows? That's the thing about klnowledge. You often don't know what will be useful and what won't until after you have the knowledge.

Great! So you did a study and found a mechanism that was actually causing intelligence deficiencies in people - lead. Good to know, right?

So, there's an admitted problem with black socioeconomic status in the US. Undeniable. Why is there a problem? What's the cause? What will you and will you not look into for insights into this problem? What will you summarily dismiss as an invalid area of research when investigating this problem?

My two cents: Sure, geographically separated evolution may, or will, lead to some genetic differences. But what genetic differences? His claims are baseless. He can't use IQ tests because those don't indicate that Blacks are less intelligent than Whites, or Asians or Indians. And if he wants to use African's IQ test results: the majority of the people are malnourished, opressed, and depressed. How well can your brain do on an empty stomach?

Some statistics showed that when the wealth level (not income level) is the same, blacks get higher SAT scores than whites, the graduation rate is higher for blacks than whites....

Whites are less intelligent when the wealth level is the same, they're inferior

I'll tell you why.

A recent study has shown that intelligence is directly related to both an intelligence gene and cranial size. If both of these are present with black people (which they most certainly are), then the Dr.'s hypothesis holds to nothing.

Whites are inferior when the wealth level is the same...in fact when the wealth level is the same there is little difference, when the socio-economic conditions are equal everything is nearly the same

I'm discussing about the definition of intelligence. Its to do with all current social systems. They are essentially dead enders. None of them based on intelligence at all, whatever that is.
