Agreed - Humans are a relatively new species. But I will go out on a limb here and say that certainly while humans exist on this planet, there will never be another intelligent species like us.

If man maintains its dominance and there is no massive shift in climate / geology etc - i.e. if the current status quo is maintained - then I would concur. However, who knows what will happen 100,000 or 200,000 years from now. And if man ever becomes non-dominant (e.g. through lack of population) then that's another story.

Are we really the most advanced species on Earth? From religous point of view there may be other species which may live around us but we may not recognise them. I cannot prove this but I cannot deny this also.
