How did Paul set the example?Paul set an example of divine encounter, we can hope for that.
Moses believed in God, and Job was totally devoted to God. Do much do that even when he lost everything. including his health. He marvel at wavered.Moses also saw the backside of God.
So...Jesus said we can ask in his name and he will ask Father to grant us.
When we ask for something Jesus will give it to us something much better than we had asked for.
Luke:11
11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Do you think it would be right of God to give us anything we ask for, even to the detriment of our souls?Let God give us whatever we ask, and make it even better than what we ask.
Who decides what is a sound mind?A sound mind will ask for good things, reasonable things.
Those would be the ones mounted on invisible purple dancing dragons, who breathe invisible heatless fire, I guess. As clueless husband iterated, there could be millions of angels around you and you wouldn’t know, because you are without understanding.
Who decides what is a sound mind?
Half of them breathe searing fire, and the other half breathe numbingly cold frost blasts, so they cancel out. I mean, duh. Those would be the ones mounted on invisible purple dancing dragons, who breathe invisible heatless fire, I guess.

Thank you.Preacher!
Well, Jesus never said for you to pray to him. That is out of the formula you put over the table.Every individual who believes in Jesus and prays to him, he should answer directly and deliver them.
He is no God, Jesus is his son... OK, in order for you to understand this part, Jesus is not Doctor Evil, Jesus is Mini me.Jesus needs to answer prayer to prove that he is a real God.
You are changing the topic, which is about Jesus, not so the churches. Most churches today are spiritually dead.
No meaning.
Do not teach good teaching.
Misuse offering money.
Do nothing good to own members nor the society.
Look at what he said, so promising.
But in fact, millions of prayer never been answered.
How can that be true?
Literally, he meant he will answer your prayer positively but this never really happened in out lives
with accuracy of >70%.
So, did Jesus bullshit?
John 14:
12Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
"I asked how God could let the Holocaust of World War II happen. We were transported to a railway station as a long train of freight cars was being unloaded of its human cargo. The guards were screaming and beating the people into submission. The people were Jewish men, women, and children. Exhausted from hunger and thirst, they were totally disoriented from the ordeal of being rounded up and sent on a long journey to an unknown destination. They believed that they were going to work camps, and that their submission to the brutality of the guards was the only way to survive.
We went to the area where the selection process was taking place and heard the guards talking about "the Angel Maker." We went to the place the guards were referring to as "the Angel Maker," which was a series of ovens. I saw piles of naked corpses being loaded into the ovens, and I began to cry. Jesus said to me, "These are the people God loves." Then he said, "Look up." Rising out of the smoke of the chimneys, I saw hundreds of people being met by thousands of angels taking them up into the sky. There was great joy in the faces of the people, and there appeared to be no trace of a memory of the horrendous suffering they had just endured. How ironic that the guards sarcastically called the ovens "the Angel Maker."
I asked how God could allow this to happen. They told me that this was not God's will. This was an abomination to God. God wants this never to happen again. This was the sacrifice of an innocent people to whom God had given the law to be an example, a light, to the rest of the world. This Holocaust was breaking God's heart. The anguish that Jesus was suffering at the slaughter of his people was too much for me to bear and I begged that we leave this place. I will never forget this: his anguish at this horror and what it represents. This was one of the low points in human history."
I asked, Why does God let things like this happen? They told me that God was very unhappy with the course of human history and was going to intervene to change the world. God had watched us sink to depths of depravity and cruelty at the very time that he was giving us the instruments to make the world a godlier world. God had intervened in the world many times before, but this time God was going to change the course of human events." (Howard Storm, My Descent Into Death, page 42,43)
