I don't believe there is a god vs I believe there is no god

Well, eight year have passed. If they haven't picked up skepticism by now, they've probably drunk the kool-aid and gone to meet Ti.

There may or may not be a way for skepticism in Heaven, but no matter what its better than not believing.

... Heaven, but no matter what its better than not believing.
Alien-Overlord Conspiracists and Chemtrail Conspiracists say the same thing: "..it's better than not believing."

Believing in things "just in case" is a path to madness.

Is there a philosophical distinction between the statements, "I don't believe there is a god" and "I believe there is no god"???

I think in order to be a "real" atheist, one must be positively certain there is no god, but this is not the case. I suspect most self-identified atheists would admit that they have no certain knowledge one way or the other.

philosophy as a science
religion as a social subject
atheism and what is it

your philosophical question is quite complicated
there are a few members who study formal philosophical theory and if you are lucky you might encounter a linguistic specialist.

the short generalized answer of your question is in the specific words you use.
"Belief" vs stated position of perceived scientific fact.
the 2 are mutually exclusive.

I kinda thought if you believe no it's the same as not believing.
