One could argue that Imperial Japan, who had been at peace with their neighbors for 5000 years, were simply doing as the Imperial English or other European colonists were doing. As a matter of fact, up until the Americans pulled a warship into Edo harbor and demanded that Japan (renown for their gold) engage with the West, they were happy to remain completely isolated. Well, one look at the shit-house China was sitting in and yeah, they engaged. It's easy to point the finger at the Germans and Japanese and say "Why look at the atrocities
they committed" well these pale in comparison with the Europeans' "Age of Discovery". As a matter of fact the pitifully puny conquests of the Arabs are nothing, absolutely nothing, compared to the near total annihilation and utter humiliation the Europeans perpetrated against - well, against about every people on the planet.
Anyway, those were different times.
Oh, and yes Sam your ancestors probably converted to Islam by coercion of some sorts. Much like how our European ancestors were coerced into Christianity. Indians, with their advanced Philosophies and Religious systems would have absolutley zero reason to go
backwards to an inferior religious Philosophy that offers nothing novel to them.
Agreed?
To think otherwise is silly. Even the Greeks with their advanced state of philosophical treaties found inspiration in Indian Philosophy.
I think it's fair to say a book that is merely 70% copied from the Torah, which any moron could do (and obviously did) combined with a big fat 0% novelty or foresight is not going to sway many Indians to "convert" begin praying towards Arabia and venerating an Arab warlord. There were TONS of those sorts around - if they were going to do that then they'd have worshiped Alexander (actually many Arabs do, they think he's a Muslim Pfff!! LOL
. You're a Muslim for the same reason many here are Christian.
On topic, is there anyone left that still thinks this war was about anything other than OIL? The reason the USA will not leave is because Iraq's oil must be secured first. It's as simple as that. Until the oil is under USA control or the USA has no need of oil then we will remain in Iraq. The USA will leave when a new Autocrat is in place who answers to Washington. Anyone who thinks otherwise is simply deluded.
