Is there a Keyword search engine all ready in place to search threads? If, not can one be created?

Is there a Keyword search engine all ready in place to search threads? If, not can one be created?

Yes, right at the top of the page between New Posts and Quick Links. However, it has really poor performance. I used it a couple of time and gave up on it.

Heh! I wouldn't exactly say "blind" - some things aren't as readily visible as they could be.
