I was reading about caffeine V mateine. They say there is no difference between the two, but I can drink all the mate I want but 2 cups of coffee make me violently sick. I would think that there is a difference.

"...no difference between the two..." assuredly means "to the taste".

It goes without saying that it doesn't mean they're chemically identical.

MSG is a lot like salt. One could say there's no difference. Yet an ex-friend of mine plowed a truck into a building because he had a reaction to MSG.
