You mean why DNA is carbon based rather than, say, silicone? If so, it's more a matter of chemistry than physics.

I'm kind of curious what "other ones" the OP means.

Is he referring to "other" nucleobases?
Or other elements as a base for nucleobases?

Are there "artificial silicon-based nucleobases"?
