Am I the only one who is tremendously excited about a new Rocky movie coming to cinemas this Christmas?

That would be my guess too.

I can't see what is appealing about this at all.

Rocky was good.
Rocky 2 was OK.
Rocky 3 was seriously pushing it.

Rocky 4 and 5 were unforgivable.
Rocky 6 is just a joke. Does it take place in a geriatric ward?
It's pretty pathetic, even if his "career" is washed up, to pull a stunt like this.

All the Rocky movies sucked. Stallone still can't act. I think you're weird Prince. Friends and Rocky.

Seriously.
The guy has no taste in literature, cinema, entertainment or philosophy. It's so disappointing. He seems rather intelligent.

No, he's coming back to fight the reigning heavyweight champ, Mason "The Line" Dixon (I'm taking bets that the champ's motto is going to be, "Better not cross The Line!")

A line from the movie:

Announcer: "It (the fight) is being billed as an exhibition, so it doesn't have to be billed as an execution."

Heathens! Philistines!

Rocky 6 shall be the cinematic powerhouse of the year. There will be nothing more moving and thrilling than seeing Rocky Balboa go back into the ring.

Roman:

Philosophy? What? My minor admiration for Ayn Rand?

Sorry, I'm holding out for another Rambo sequel - it was there that he truly shone like a nite-lite !

I thought it was good except for 3 and 6. 4 was pretty good, 1 was the best. He had a lot of heart in 4, but less brain than 1.

We all seem to forget that the first rocky got a shitload of oscars, well three, and was nominated for a shit load more.

Best Picture (Robert Chartoff and Irwin Winkler) (won)
Best Director (John G. Avildsen) (won)
Film Editing (Richard Halsey and Scott Conrad) (won)
Best Original Screenplay (Sylvester Stallone)
Best Actor (Sylvester Stallone)
Best Actress (Talia Shire)
Best Supporting Actor (Burt Young)
Best Supporting Actor (Burgess Meredith)
Best Music, Original Song (Bill Conti, Carol Connors and Ayn Robbins for "Gonna Fly Now")
Best Sound (Harry W. Tetrick, William L. McCaughey, Lyle J. Burbridge and Bud Alper )

I may point out that Sylvester was nominated for Best Actor, and Best Screenplay.

Then again, a beautiful mind also won oscars.

and now a shameless repost that was off topic somewhere else, but not here:

Man, the rocky 4 soundtrack is the best album ever easily beating anything the beatles made or pink floyd.

Just look at this!
1. Burning Heart - Survivor
2. Heart's On Fire - John Cafferty
3. Double Or Nothing - Kenny Loggins & Gladys Knight
4. Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor
5. Training Montage - Vince DiCola
6. War - Vince Dicola
7. Living In America - James Brown
8. No Easy Way Out - Robert Tepper
9. One Way Street - Go West
10. The Sweetest Victory - Touch

Living in america! BURNING HEART! And EYE OF THE TIGER!...

And we have a duet from kenny loggins and some chick..

just WOW!!!

And rocky 4 is also the best movie ever made. He kicked that russian's ass despite that the Russian had better resources! He had fancy stuff, while rocky trained with ROCKS!!

You would think that america had more facny stuff, but no...the USSR was technologically more advanced. Great documentary!

And then Rambo 3 showed us the mujahideen were sophisticated freedom fighters!!! Great movie. I don't understand how the mujahideen could have become terrorists. Clearly these people were good and not evil. I think it's a conspiracy by the french government.

Can't remember rocky V for some reason...

And I have to admit I am still having nightmares of having seen Cobra.

This film is bound to be a real bizarre one, who can actually say they believe Rocky is going back to win this fight? I'd venture to guess it'll be a draw, he can't possibly win in his final film can he?

Don't worry. Rocky 6 finishes with a wizened old Native American witchdoctor bringing Rocky back from the dead and sprinkling him with the Dust of Invincibility. Then he battles it out with General Zod from Superman.
