Aaron cursed under his breath as the discharge arced across his shields before grounding out. He looked at the tricorder, now a simple paperweight, before sighing.

"You damned fool... what is it you're trying to do here? If you want a firefight you better believe you picked the wrong person to mess with... I could have my ship blast your entire base from orbit if I was here to destroy you, did you think of THAT?" he growled, becoming obviously irate. "We came here because of the amount of debris in orbit, looking to provide aid to those who needed it... where we are we aren't even sure at this point; it obviously isn't our earth. None the less, here we are... now are you going to help us get our man back or..."

He stopped as the base defenses went off.

"Damnit... tell your men to stand down! NOBODY HAS TO DIE." he grabbed the soldier and hoisted him to his feet. Otherwise, stay out of our way! I have no intention of taking you as my prisoner" he released the cuffs on the solider "so go out there and tell them to stand down!"

With that he shoved the soldier out into the clearing and backed under the stealth field. Climbing up onto the ARGO, he manned the phaser cannon with baited breath.

"Ryan, bring the ARGO into the Archangel. Everyone, onboard. With any luck they'll listen to reason... otherwise they may just shell the place. The Archangel's shields will give us a chance to bug out if we need to."

And with that they piled in and sealed up. The Archangel's shields came online as her primary systems powered up, including their deflectors.

"Lets just pray they do... I don't want any bloodshed on my hands today..." Aaron muttered.

what I wasn't expecting was for them to deactivate the cuffs, but you know what they say, take what you can when they can, and that meant me getting out of there.

The field started to intensify even more, I'd never felt it so strong before, you couldn't hit a four story building from orbit with this sort of distortion.

I got back to my men who were surprised. "Surround the area, don't let that ship take off. Don't shoot anything, I don't know their intentions, but I doubt they are all too hostile, they're too oblivious to be spies." I said

"yes sir." a corporal said, and then he froze and saluted... I didn't know what for...

"All of the sudden I hear, commander, what's the situation..."

Back to my POV
______________________________________

"Well, ugh... they let me go." he said

"just like that?" I said

"Just like that" he said

as we were talking several more platoons of nano soldiers started to encircle the landing area around the craft.

"What did they want?" I asked

"Well, mostly why we attacked them, they seem to be rather clueless as to where they are." he said

"Alright then, lets set up a perimeter." I said

After a five minute walk I was at the ship. The distortion was way to high to try and radio them.

"fuck it" I said

"If I'm not back in twenty then shoot the engineers who designed the armor." I said

I took a deep breath, and I operated a control on my left wrist and the suit and I just puffed into thin air with a tiny white puff of smoke, I could see everything around me, the craft and what not, but judging from everyone else's gaze nobody could see me.

I tried to knock against the door and my arm went through. I walked straight through the door. and saw a few people and then I evaporated straight back into reality and the people almost fell backwards on their asses.

"I am Brigadier General Zero of I corps in the Terran Defense Forces. What do you think your doing on my base?" I asked.

OOC: PS, Kitt, there's no relationship between the terrans in this story and the bad guys in star trek from the mirror universe.

OOC - *nods* Understood

Aaron blinked in surprise, then smiled slightly, jumping down from the ARGO.

"Brigadier General Zero, I am Captain Aaron Ayante of the Federation Starship Noble. I do apologize for our sudden appearance here - it would seem that this is not the... Earth... we're looking for."

he gave a slight wince at the way that sounded, knowing it was probably outlandish

"By the way - phase tech... I was not expecting that..." I said, trying to think of how to explain their current situation. "You see, where we're from it is the year 2521, and the Federation and her allies have been assailed by a threat known as the Borg... we were returning home after exploring a spatial anomaly we thought was a new type of wormhole and... well, it seems as though whatever it was, it sent us here."

He turned to the MACO's and nodded - they lowered their weapons.

"Might I ask what all that debris in orbit was about?"

What kind of fight exactly?

Well, a chance to see what each side did, how the tech worked - I'm assuming your working off of Crysis 2 tech as a basis? I'm trying to gear my guys to be better in some ways, weaker in others. Generally, the gear I have is more specialized than the Nanosuits, some with better stealth capability but less armor and combat focus, and others (like what my MACO's are in) is very heavily armed and armored, but about as stealthy as a heatstroked elephant rampaging through a china shop.

That was the basis for the current nanosuit my guys have. But the engineers have been tinkering around with a newer battlesuit, a combination between the muscular system of crysis nanosuit, armor and integrated weaponry from iron man, fast and agile like... a generic bad ass video game character, and the destructive power of mechwarrior battle armor :).

Thus far there's really only one functioning prototype which they rushed for this purpose that my guy is wearing.

hmmm, to say I was a bit speechless... is an understatement.

"Right... what's a borg?"

"Never mind that, you probably could not have picked a worse time and place to arrive. That debris, its from the largest space battle and orbital liberation in the history of mankind... well... our mankind anyways."

"So why the hell are you guys here?" "We detected no anomalies near this sector that could explain it." I said.

OOC - yeah, my combat suits are more durable and have more firepower than yours, but are very easy to detect and have reduced mobility over a normal person. The recon suits are less durable than the mk 1 nano suit but has far better stealth and sensor ability, plus the shields add some protection but they can only take so much damage before needing to recharge.

Overall, the MACO armor should be roughly on par with what you have on, but you have a massive advantage in mobility and stealth to counter their advantage in durability and firepower :)

IC:

"We didn't come out of the anomaly near here - we actually were near the Deneb system at the time, responding to reports of the anomaly. When we exited, we had lost contact with Starfleet Command, so we came back to Earth to investigate and, well... here we are."

he sighed

"It's a lot to take in at once, I know... but perhaps we could save the backstory for later? It seems you guys could use some help... liberation of mankind from what, exactly?"

"We already liberated ourselves... not a particularly cute tale, lots of death, gore, and of course we got ourselves stuck in the middle of it" I said.

It wasn't a cute subject, that was for damn sure, it brought back memeories of Aria and her friends. Leveling a holian base... Damn, it was dirty. I remember killing that one poor kid that got caught at the wrong end of my gun, and then punching his friend to death. War sucks... but someone's got to do it... I've got to do it.

I snapped back to reality.

"Look, I don't have the time to deal with this, and with all that's going on I don't feel like imprisoning you guys here, you can have your guys back and then leave the base. After that, go, stay, it doesn't matter by me. You know where to find us, and I'd suggest trying to make some sort of contact with the Terran government." I said

Out of Game: I am waiting for your people to come out and show themselves

In Game:

"Sir, this will be our first experiments for these two particular projects, are you sure?"

Shogun put on his helmet, he is wearing his flight suit. He then said,

"Hell yeah," a phrase he picked up during exile, they all picked up on a lot of things during their exile, nothing bad of course. Also thanks to the sympathizers, which consisted mostly of scientists, engineers, and scholars, their technologies are being upgraded tremendously. The two particular tests that he would personally conduct.....more like being the guinea pig for......are transporters. They already had such technology, but the ones he is testing now are enhanced, one is a stealth personnel transporter, which can't be detected, ideal for stealth insertions, another is a transporter for large objects, such as shuttles, gunships, mobile suits and such. The test involved transporting him to his MS then transporting the MS with him inside to the surface of the planet. Then he will be transported back to the hanger. There is a possibility he might die but he didn't care.

"Lets commence the tests,"

"Sir, it seems like they want to talk." the sergeant said

"cute"

"Okay, were about a dozen or so clicks from camp, give me that flare" I said

He handed me a flare.

I pointed it up and fired it the next time I heard them come over head. The bright star shot up into the blue and exploded in a large bright detonation.

"Do we have the prisoner?" I said

"Yah, right here" a corporal said with the guy tied up over his shoulder.

"Sir, they are requesting your help at the armory lab." the master sergeant said

"What for?" I said

"Something about the battlesuit."

I headed to the lab in a humvee.

I got out and asked "what is it?"

I saw that they had set up some sort of make shift wall out of sand filled crates and put some metal targets in front.

"We need to get some data from the suit and test some things out." the engineer said

"Fine, who do you need?" I asked impatiently

"You."

"Why me, Ive got many other things to get done" I said gesturing out the window to an active shipyard where cruisers were being hastily repaired.

"The suit runs just as much off of neural commands as it does from your physical movements, the jump jets don't work simply because you pointed yourself upwards and jumped, they work because somewhere your brain wants them to and the suit interprets that. Since you are the first user then that means that it is set according to you. We could reset it, but that would knock off a few days." he said

"So use one of the other damn suits." I said impatiently

"They won't be ready for a little while." some technicion said

"Fine fine" I said

I climbed up the stepladder and got into the suit, they buttoned it up and it turned on. This time it was smoother, the boot up was faster.

I stood up and walked a bit.

"I appreciate you guys making this thing usable." I said

"Alright, we have some new toys we want to test." he said

"Like?"

"A gauss cannon, a particle projection cannon, a dual missile system, and ECM suite, a jumppack let me think..." the engineer said

"the minigun." the scientist said

"Right, thats the one!" the engineer said

"Just stay over there" a technicion said.

They moved some sort of rack over and on it was a backpack.

They mounted it on the back and it fit itself to the suit.

"Alright, try and activate the gauss rifle" they said

"How?" I demanded

"...think it... I think" someone said

Sure enough out of the back this gauss cannon unfolded itself right under my right arm and extended itself quite a bit.

"firing" I said

It shot the projectile straight through the target and embedded itself pretty deeply into the sand crate wall.

"damn"

The MS pilots marked the position and hovered above, then Juliet 22 walked to the hanger and got into his MS. He got into the MS and powered up the systems, he the walked his MS to the launch catapult.

"All systems green," he said,

"Sir, you are clear to launch,"

"Lieutenant Huston, Mist, launching,"

His MS then transformed into fighter mode and flew to the marked position.

"Lets land and talk," he said,

All 5 MS landed, their cockpits open and they jumped out of their cockpits, the four escorts with their rifles ready if anything were to go wrong.

"Shin! Wake up!"

Shin opened his eyes and saw someone in an ESSCPA Advanced Flight Suit. He recognize the suit, all their suits are customized.....it is Moskva's.

He then woke up, his helmet was beside his head, he sat up and then looked around, they were in a rainforest, he looked back and saw their Mobile Suits a distance away.

He then asked,

"Where are we?"

Moskva then said,

"I'll be damned if I know, last thing I remember was us breaking through the clouds, then a flash of light, that's it,"

He then quickly asked a bit worried,

"How is everyone else?"

His expression then turned grim,

"We lost contact with them, our Mobile Suits are down and need repairs, we are on our own now,"

"The Admiral wishes to speak to Brigadier General Zero ASAP, on a direct secure line," Huston said,

Then a message came over the comms, he sealed all audio to outside on his helmet, nobody outside can hear him, but he nodded

"Understood", he said into his comms,

He then turned on audio and then said,

"We have been assigned to your platoon as an act of good will, until further decisions are made by our respective leaders,"

OOC: Umm, shogun, no offense, but why? these guys aren't really the super soldier friendly type...

"Thanks but no thanks, we don't do goodwill, we just do our jobs. Look if shogun wants to speak with zero the best way is to do it face to face. Land at borea basin with the landing code EPC11015125 and they will let you in." I said

I motioned to the corporal who dropped the super soldier we caught onto the ground.

"Here's your man back" I said

"But if you really want to go on a secure line then use the everest encryption from the liberation, that should be pretty open and nobody but us listens to it. Tell the operator you want to talk to zero and he should patch you through. That should just about do it" I said

NEWS FLASH: "It seems that the ISC have come to terms of surrender with the United Earth Alliance. SciFleet Command is in high spirits. However, the standstill arms race between us and the Holians still holds concern, especially in the Senate. Grand Admiral Omega with the SSS Aggressor, and the SSS Gargantuan shall be returning to Alliance airspace. I say again, the ISC war is over!"

Onboard the Aggressor: "Admiral, we did it. Congratulations."

"Thank you Jim. You've been an exceptional First Mate. I'll miss you when you leave for your own command."

"What's gonna happen to Captain Ahab and the Gargantuan?"

"Command will tell us soon enough."

Omega turned to ensiegn George. "Set a course for the Sol system, Warp 9."
