Seriously though I find lots of people attractive who aren't traditionally attractive, but still there's a very clear scale of attractiveness that is a seperate entity to my personal taste. I'm attracted to certain select people from both ends of the spectrum and in between, my taste barely correlates with the global standard scale of attractiveness at all, but this doesn't make me deny it's existence. That seems like an arrogant way of looking at the world to me.
Just because I find an ugly person attractive doesn't make me think they are in fact not ugly when most everyone else thinks they are, and their nose is a weird shape and their eyes are sticking out funny or whatever. They're ugly, I'm just attracted to an ugly person.

we're only giving subjective opinions.

lou mentioned a "the global standard scale of attractiveness", there is the idea that sexual attraction/beauty was engineered by natural selection, and helps us identify suitable mates. or at least mates with strong genes.
 
If the majority of people admit their own opinions of attractiveness don't match up to the objective standard, is there really an objective standard?
 
They don't though.
Most dudes are attracted to megan fox, miranda kerr, jessica alba, most women brad pitt, george clooney, orlando bloom, etc.
Shamelessly.
Most people see flaws as flaws, literally not good, remembering there's a difference between settling on a flawed person and actually finding them more attractive than brad pitt or jessica alba.
The latter isn't that common.
