While an authority can be wrong or misleading, life is short. If we tried to work out everything for ourselves, there would not be much time left for smelling the roses. Relying on an authority is often a convenient shortcut.

but that authority must display evidence and proof for their claims, I'm not going to board the Beagle and search the Galapagos like Darwin, but his proof and evidence is so clear, logical and obvious, that I will believe in evolution based only on vague personal observations and scientific literature.
LOL I'm not really a drug user... the closest I've come is Adderol, Retaline, Tofarnill, and misc. other ADHD drugs. But sometimes, just SOMETIMES I wish I could get a stronger dose of my stuff without worrying about heart attacks, ceasures, ect

Have a read of The FAQ on nominating people for Nobel prizes. Importantly, the bit about nominators must not make public the names of the nominees nor inform nominees privately of the proposals. And The names of the nominees are classified as confidential information for at least fifty years.
So the Nobel committee will not divulge nominees for 50 years. But nor should the nominator tell the nominee. The corollary of this is left to the reader. Maybe the Nobel committee would be interested in Paul's CV?

Clearly, this is enough energy to access those energies resident in de Sitter space thus produing a supernova. This is termed a Type Ia supernova and is used as a standard candle for distance estimates in observational astonomy.
Even though research is often risky this is an unacceptable risk since supernova production will destroy everthing out to a perimeter of some 50 light years.

The Tevatron at Fermilab has again initated the collisional interactions between matter and anti-matter in the ring. We may quote from H. G. Wells in this connection,
"Human history becomes more and more a race
between education and catastrophe."
So far, there has been no scientific rejoinder to the position derived from relativistic cosmology that these energies as they are increased will inevitably cause a transition towards de Sitter space, thus releasing the force of a Type Ia Supernova. The energies in de Sitter space, as is well-known, are great enough to produce this tragic result.
All the children will thank you for your prompt actions on their behalf - and may the good God have mercy on our souls.

Could we now spread an ultimate pollution?
We all believe in an unseen universe

Astronomers envision dark matter
Cosmologists, a parrallel brane.
Physicists, eleven dimensions.
Even religious myths
are romanticly the same.
So until we have better eyes to see
we best burn our oil
because the Peters on the other side
could cosmicly become very very angry
should we endanger them
without knowledge or care.
Blindly lighting a fuse is insanity.
Free energy is like a free lunch
it still comes from somewhere.
It worries me that we may plunge ahead
without knowing anything about the where.
Without caring what differentials we create.
Perhaps there are simple safeguards
but as always we seem to proceed on a dare.
So the energy machine we call trinity
and the overlord device remain on ice.
We still secretly seek
to control the singularity.
"Peter" demands inspections.
Since he can see through time, he hopes
to correct our ignorant peculiarities.
Perhaps in time the harm we will cause may be found
"Peter" must decide if we're fit to stay around.
In cosmic proportions another war looms
yet again for energy and power.
But this time worlds will end
and the outcome will portend

The energetics at Fermilab are now set to exceed 51.79E30 luminosity at some 978.09 GeV - which is the new record. There has thus been an increment of some 5 orders of magnitude (x 10) since the beginning of Run II at Fermilab. Your continued efforts to halt this imprudent action are are all that keeps us from the generation of
a Type Ia supernova in the Einstein de Sitter Universe as it is now termed. With each increment in energetics, the probability of forming a transition toward de Sitter space is increased.
All the children will thank you for your prompts actions on their behalf - and may the good God have mercy on our souls!

wow, this is hands down the most bizarre thread I've seen in months (certainly in this area anyway). In reading Dr.Pauls posts its almost like someone developed a very advanced software program that simulates human responses but still has that off-kilter mechanical or alien quality about it. Either that or the feeling of an up and coming cult leader, Dr.Pauls statements are almost creepy in their antiseptic politeness and repetitive openings and closings. Not to mention the way very straight questions or requests for detail are not only, not addressed but sidestepped entirely. This thread is like a slow motion car accident, as tortuous and painful as it is I just can't stop watching.
