I'm sure I posted on this thread when it was first going. But it's interesting to revisit the question ten years later.
The Beatles' music still seems destined to be timeless. The evidence is that their songs are included on CDs of children's music. Songs that we learn as children stay with us forever, and we teach them to our own children. Although the lyrics are often completely garbled after a few centuries. "Yellow Submarine": That was already a children's song when they wrote it! I betcha it's playing in your head now, and I betcha you don't even mind.
Radiohead, on the other hand... Who the hell is Radiohead?
