I'm sure I posted on this thread when it was first going. But it's interesting to revisit the question ten years later.

The Beatles' music still seems destined to be timeless. The evidence is that their songs are included on CDs of children's music. Songs that we learn as children stay with us forever, and we teach them to our own children. Although the lyrics are often completely garbled after a few centuries. "Yellow Submarine": That was already a children's song when they wrote it! I betcha it's playing in your head now, and I betcha you don't even mind.

Radiohead, on the other hand... Who the hell is Radiohead? :)

For me neither is that important. Music is personal, like art.

So neither for me, but i assume they affected alot that where into them.

Like i will give you an example.

Nirvana
Green Day
Oasis

those three bands where the most important for me. Others may hate them, but for me they resonated something, and at the right time. Music that matters most to you is when you are young, and nirvana was the first time i understood why people listen to music, when i was 17 when they came out. Saying one band over another is like picking one piece of art over another. Things resonate with people differently, and the music industry is there to program the young especially.

Music you listen too can change your life. It can be a real powerful influence on you, and thats why all mainstream music is aimed at the young, before there brains are formed into the adult they will become.
