O Bebelina, Goddess of Ten Thousand Names,
You who are first, who always has been, and always will be,
Who works through all circumstances,
Who shows me that I am connected to all things,
Cover me now with your outstretched wings,
Lean close to the earth, and hear this small voice
That calls to you in prayer:
From the darkest depths my heart cries out to you;
My soul is troubled, and chaos fills my life.
Put my feet on the path that they should follow.
Give me courage to go the way that I should go
When you have shown it to me.
May your heart and my heart
Be one.
Spookz, I'm speachless, that was beautiful.
If I had the power I would give you that courage, but only you know what path is right for you.
But love is always the most pleasant way.
Bebelina
just checked out your picture
great pic and photo effort
the extra years of experience show on the extra facets of your personality like light from a well cut gemstone
lets be honest your not looking any older
in any big way its just the angle of the pic and the make-up
and the lighting effect

would i be right in guessing the poem is from a christian blessing construct of attempted verse
not meaning you but the original version before it was changed
a bit off topic but from my experience it seems there are
slight differences in the basic construct and pagen spirituality is
often a minor alteration in its contructed base
however that is mearly observation on my part
i have noticed that most christian verse seems to be confined to
certain perameters
my first impresion is that the poem base construct is christian in origin and maybe around 300 years old as a base style
buts thats a completely different topic
i was hoping for a quick precise answer to satisfy my curiosity
anyway, goddess worship predates the monotheistic stuff with the latter drawing heavily on the former for much of its basic constructs. as for verse; i am no expert. the quoted poem seems rather generic in a hallmark kinda way. perhaps some real pagan shit.....?
Valiant Nuada of the white sword,
Who subdued the Firbolg of blood,
For love of the Tribe, for pains of Danu's children,
Hold thy shield over us, protect us all,
Hold thy shield over us, protect us all.
Danu beloved! Mother of the Shining Ones,
Shield, oh shield us, Lady of nobleness,
And Brigit the beauteous, shepherdess of the flocks,
Safeguard thou our animals, encircle us together,
Safeguard thou our animals, encircle us together.
And Ellen, beneficent, benign,
Governess of the trackways of power,
Invoke the star of power upon the path,
Guide well thou ourselves, shield our procession,
Guide well thou ourselves, shield our procession.
O Mother! O Maiden! O Crone of Wisdom!
Be the Triad with us day and night,
On the machair plain or on the mountain ridge,
Be the Triad with us and her cloak around us,
Be the Triad with us and her cloak around us. --From the carmina gadelica, ancient celtic oral tradition

and children...what do we do after an experiment? Yes, we write down false results, otherwise we will have nothing to show for when we return to our own lab.
edit: I am so unbelieveably cool, that it is almost chilly.
