What is the difference between a cult and a religion?

There used to be a person here who said he was an atheist Muslim. He didn't believe in God but he still felt he was a Muslim culturally.
 
Can you quote him? I'd like to see where he called himself an atheist Muslim.
 
This guy was from well before you were here. Maybe someone can remember him? I think he was a mathematician. He spent most of his time in the political section talking about how the war in iraq was wrong. this was about the time of the start of the war.

anyway, I distinctly remember he said he didn't believe in god and he was Muslim.
