    But at the top of my list is: the innocence of children.

    I can't think of anything else that - if violated - will cause otherwise perfectly law-abiding citizens to horrible things to a violator.

    I ... but ... they're mutually exclusive.

    If Bob says "X is the most respected", and Alice says "Y is the most respected", you can't agree with both of them.
