Why is gun control so difficult in the US?

The Constitution does not give American citizens the right to own guns. God and/or nature did and says you can use anything you have to protect yourself, family, and property from others. The 2nd Amendment merely reinforces the fact that Government can’t take that, are any other inalienable rights, away.

Ta-DAAAAAAAAAAA!

As a black man, I trust a white Sheriff in Cobb County, Georgia in a MAGA hat chewing Red Man and wearing reflective sunglasses stopping me at 2 a.m. on a dark, desolate, rural road in my new, shiny, NY-plated Cadillac Escalade with dark tinted windows and 40” spinners while I blast “Cop Killer” and reach under my seat for my license, registration, and insurance, much more than I trust Robert Mueller. Or Barack Obama.

My guns can’t even wipe their own butts without me. Leave them alone. Gunphobes.

Don't understand what your guns have to do with allowing the CDC to study gun crimes.

My Roger 10/22 is a work gun, it kills rats real good, not like poison which is slow and painful and leaves dying rats bleeding out of every orifice outside the barn where the dogs eat them and then need to be puked with H2O2 so they too don't get poisoned. Anyways I don't fear my rat culling being inhibited by the government, I'm not a government-phobe.

Also welcome to sciforums, the moderators are SJW and they don't like trolls.

The scary part is Whollyweird is remaking "Death Wish", with Bruce Willis in the role formerly owned by the ultra short Charles Bronson. The cowboys are going to be drooling over this one. I'm going to a theater with a metal detector.

I'm trying figure out your point. Are you simply against the AR-15, or do you want a ban on all guns? As you have clearly illustrated, they are all semi-automatic. What is your position? So I know where you stand.
no your not bowser you play this game everytime someone challenges you. you just like to cause problems by promoting wackjob rightwing ideas.

So more criminals should die? Vigilantism? There are more self-defense uses of guns, that don't result in a death, than crime committed with guns. They chose "criminals killed" to dishonestly play people for fools. Responsible gun owners are not chomping at the bit to kill someone. Often brandishing a gun will do the job. Especially when criminals may be expecting easy, unarmed targets.
no there is not. john lott is a liar and fraud and the study your referencing is almost without question understood to have never actually taken place. guns are rarely used in self defense.

States have powers not granted to the federal government. That was a concession made to get the Constitution ratified by the states.
You calling facts propaganda doesn't change them.
there is nothing in the second amendment that prevents a national gun registry. while it is true that states have this does not fall into that arena. im not calling facts propaganda im calling propaganda propaganda. you like most gun nuts are extremely ignorant of the constitution and what it actually means.

are you kidding? john fucking lott. that studt has been debunked more than once. there is serious debate that he never actually did the study. you lost all credibility quoting this fraud.
Yes, because I was so worried about having credibility with you. [/sarcasm] Until I see some evidence of your gun/Constitution knowledge, I'm not too concerned.
why don't you say what you mean you'll ignore me till i agree witgh you because your a child like most gun nuts who whines at the hint of having to be responsible with your toys. that you knowingly rely on a know fraud says everything i need to know about. you have zero constitutional knowledge other than what the NRA told you to believe. i've showcased your ignorance here. and yo dumbass if you want to convinve people your right you should care about about how credible you are but than again if you'll just whip out your gun and threaten me to get what you want. people like you are little more than thugs when you get down to the nitty gritty.

Fully automatic compared to semi-automatic[edit]

Walther P99, a semi-automatic pistol from the late 1990s
The usage of the term automatic may vary according to context. Gun specialists point out that the word automatic is sometimes misunderstood to mean fully automatic fire when used to refer to a self-loading, semi-automatic firearm not capable of fully automatic fire. In this case, automatic refers to the loading mechanism, not the firing capability.

The term "automatic pistol" almost exclusively refers to a semi-automatic (i.e. not fully automatic) pistol. With handguns, the term "automatic" is commonly used to distinguish semi-automatic pistols from revolvers. The term "auto-loader" may also be used to describe a semi-automatic handgun. However, to avoid confusion, the term "automatic rifle" is generally, conventionally and best restricted to a rifle capable of fully automatic fire. Both uses of the term "automatic" can be found; the exact meaning must be determined from context.

You have no natural right to murder or rape.
We have a natural right to have sex and to kill, and regularly avail ourselves of them. We have passed laws that restrict these natural rights to attempt to prevent rape and murder, which we define as crimes.
You do have a natural right to defend yourself from these.
We have a natural right to defend ourselves. We do not have a natural right to use (or mishandle) guns to slaughter or murder other people. We have passed laws that restrict what we can do with guns to attempt to prevent murder and manslaughter. We may well expand these laws to reduce the number of innocent people killed.
