you want to know why old guys wear flatcaps?

Don't really care much about "capism" or whatever, but putting this in your will is rad.

The heavy metal guy's hat looks cool, but that looks like a different hat than those "old man" hats, or "jackie brown" hats.

Hello Cole

The cap hes wearing looks different from a front angle but its a new york Sandwich cap which is quite an old style and Victor Meldew wears a grey one in One foot in the grave. His name Is Brian Johnson and he was a lead singer of the aussie rock group AC/DC. I grew up with them and love their music.
As for the headgear its not really a hat. It's a cap the difference is a hat usulay has a brim and sits on the head while a cap is closer to the scalp and pretty much wraps onto the scalp.
Flatcaps are usualy worn by old men but originaly it was worn by young guys and even kids so the style is coming back into fashion among some young people. The main inflance of me wearing a flatcap is "Anthony Hopkins" I admire the actor and wanted to be like him. He wore a flatcap on a doco about lions("Living with lions") and in the UK he wears a tweed flatcap and that was all the encouragement I needed. I had worn flatcaps since 1994 and have smoked a pipe in that amount of time as well.
Like Frank said in Hellrasier

Hello Imaplanck

You will be suprised how many offers I have gotten from younger hip lasses who wear flatcaps because of Holly Valence and even middle aged women who think Im Lord Ashfordly because I wear a three piece suit with the flat cap. Also there are still some ladies who dont see chivery as dead and are deeply touched by a tradional mans way of flowers and choclates. Polish guys give their girlfriends 12 red roses as a sign of love.
I think its because back in the golden age there were 2 classes of guys who wore flatcaps. Fred Moleiin made it a "working class mans" look with his dugie on in the steam industry. Older Dustmen wear them and its also a wealthy man's casual look. esp. playing a round of 18 holes and they usualy wear a country style flat cap ala Lord Ashfordly who wears a "Sandstone Tweed" along with his crombie. You can tell he's wealthy by his posh british accent. Lord Ashfordly played by Rupert Vansitard is in a British tv show called "Heartbeat"

FCM ;)

Hello Sir or Miss

No I am dead serious about flatcaps as it is a hobbie and more then that for me. It is a way of life in more ways than one as I even refer flat caps to RPGS as well as I have worn one playing all Final Fantasys as well (all 10 and X-2). I even worn a bowler hat playing part 8's showdown along with my pipe and baccy.

I am loyal you got to admit that.

Thank God for that. You've been babbling on about them so much I was beginning to think you were serious.

Its ok Implanck I do own 85 flatcaps heaps of winter ones(90%) and a few summer ones and I plan on getting heaps more. I am really hoping to get the exact brown one Fred Moillien wore.
I am planning to wear them for the rest of my life even when im old. They give me such pleasure and are conidered "Normal and a way of life"
