Billy Corgan has a new band with a album out. I was a big fan of the Pumpkins back in the day and i'm curious about this new band.

Has any one heard the new album? How does it compare to old pumpkins stuff?

they are my favorite,

stiff space guy...i will get back to you on this later, i don't have any time to yak right now. but, suffice it to say...i bought 3 copies of mary star. it is just like old-time pumpkins. love it, love it, love it! hey, IM if you wanna talk. bye.

dude....this is such a great album....man, it takes me back to the old siamese dream days....it's solid in all categories, and even exemplary in others...all the tracks are very good, not one that drags even the slightest...shucks to any of you who do not even borrow a friends copy...a new classic...i could go on for day...man o man....

basically..just go out and get it....

like siamese dream you say? i like the sound of that.

i guess i know what i'm doing tomorrow morning:)

Mary Star of the Sea and slushies..

:) ah, i'm doing that right now! (siamese dreaming) p.s. you guys are funny!:D

oh yeah, and, did you catch the dates (i don't know if you get mailers that keep you udated on Zwan stuff from their home-front delivered to your email addresses or not) but, you can actually view the cd release party in chicago on mtv 1 (barf) and mtv 2. if you need to know the times, lemme know..:)

and, lemme finally say this...i love billy corgan. and, he looks so happy now.:) guess these new band mates agree with him!

Everything about Zwan is much different philisophically than the Pumpkins. They are more upbeat, loose, and their sense of humor is much easier too pick up on...

Mary Star of the Sea is an excellent album, but if I were the band I would get rid of Heartsong and Desire and replace them with Ring the Bells, Candy Came Calling, Glorious or El-A-Noy. Those songs are infinitly more enjoyable.

Album favs = Ride a Black Swan, Yeah! Jesus I/Mary Star of the Sea

I 2nd that. it's much more upbeat. it still kind of sounds like siamese dream. but not at all depressing. I've listened through it 3 or 4 times, it's pretty good, maybe not quite as much as siamese dream(my fav)

What song is it by either the Pumpkins or Zwan where he goes, in a really raspy voice "what is it?" over and over? I heard it on the radio and loved it, but I don't know what it's called! :(

Thats "Faith No More," dude. Good group of jammin, crazy ass American boys. The music video is really weird.

i am not sure which you are talking about ...but, if it's being aired on your station a lot right now...it's more than likely the new Zwan single called Honestly. heehee.....and, yeah...his voice is always "raspy"....that's billy for ya..:)

Well now I feel like a dolt, . Thanx though

Dont worry, I had the same problem with that song. They never said the name on the radio. Maybe the DJs didnt know it either.

I had the same problem with many songs...
Bush - come down
Collective Soul - Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid (album)

I felt like such a spaz for not knowing these, but I finally found them.

I think zwan.com is one of the grooviest sites I have ever seen. It's so yellow submarinesque, and there are samples of songs too if anyone was interested.
