Is the Universal expansion caused by ''heat''?

You seem to be suggesting that space itself is made of nothing , it just being space. Where the provider of the statement Joel R. Primack seems to be suggesting space has elastically properties which is suggestive of some form of material. Accordingly also does not mean the statement is true, accordingly means it is Joel R. Primack's belief unless there is evidence of the claim of space itself is infinitely elastic?

Like yourself kind sir, I to do not think or know that space is made of something.

I thank you kind sir for your patience and replies. The Wikipedia you mentioned seems very informative but it does not talk back to me to clarify the understanding of the information. I am sorry for being a pest sir, I am just curious and think you would have to be a scientist to understand Wikipedia.

I've given you the links. You can quite easily read for yourself the passages in which the theory of the metric expansion of space is stated and described. In fact I actually quoted a passage from one link in post 9.

Since up to this point it is us who has done the work of answering your questions and finding explanatory links for you, I suggest you now read the link I provided in post 13, and then you make a new post in which you quote the relevant passage from that link (the opening 2 sentences will do ), just to show that you have done some reading of your own. And then, if necessary we can take it further. Perhaps.

I'm afraid no one can help you there. That is like asking what is a quark made of? Science can say quarks have these properties but what it is 'made of' is not answerable or even particularly meaningful. Space has 4 dimensions and can be stretched and warped by gravity, what it is 'made of' is not answerable or particularly meaningful.

Ah well, that's not what you asked me for. This exercise has dealt with what you did ask me for, which was a statement showing that space itself is expanding (according to modern cosmology theory).

As for what it is that stretches, it is the metric, i.e. the very dimensions of length, breadth and depth. If you know any special relativity, you will appreciate that observations of length are not absolute but depend on the motion of an object relative to the person or device measuring it. So the spatial dimensions of something can vary depending on the circumstances. In general relativity this rather disturbing idea is taken several steps further. Suffice it to say that it not necessary that space be "made of" something in order to get stretched.

The link you have just quoted from gives a more thorough explanation. I suggest you read it and the other link and have a think about it. It is admittedly not an easy concept.

The action has to be a physical process and then we describe the process with words. A change in metric measurement is a difference between two points. I am sorry sir I can not imagine how nothing can stretch. Can you please explain kind sir? It is ok to just say you do not know the answer.

Do you understand how special relativity shows that length changes with relative motion?

In that case you need to start at square one with special relativity. I can help with that, but I'm not going to, as it will take far too long and there are plenty of places where you can read about it for yourself.

Once you have got your head round that, you will be in a far better position to grasp an outline of general relativity and then how modern cosmology works.

I do not understand kind sir, that sounds like a contradiction to me.
It is quite subtle and I did not expect you to be able to understand it. It is clear that you are here trying to learn (just kidding) but you clearly do not have the basic understanding of physics and you should try understanding the basics first before jumping into concepts that are beyond your understanding. A kid that wants to be a doctor does not start out with brain surgery, he starts with using Band-Aids.

Space is a term and on google search it says :space is a continuous area or expanse which is free, available, or unoccupied.

I asked the question , what substance is stretching? As the word space is not a substance.
