What is encouraging is the number of countries actually trying to act responsibly.
We can only wait and hope USA joins in but until then it would seem a case of a lot of folk bailing the boat whilst one passenger explores better ways of drilling holes in the boat....no doubt to let the water out if you ask them.

That is nearly 25% of Australia's population sitting at home or going to work not knowing what the hell is happening to their life style or even if they have a home to go back to.
They have been warned for years that the threat of fire storms has been increasing every year and now we have a big day ahead of us...but no, they may sit back and claim that because some one is acting hypocritically he is telling lies about climate change...instead of doing their own research and looking after their own interests they seek to blame someone else for their confusion and watch their lifestyle go up in smoke because of.....their desire to excuse their denial.

Do you think next year is going to get any better?

Certainly 11000 scientist think it wont and are prepared to at least state it is a such. ( even if they do it from their 1st class air ticket seat on an A340 Oxygen guzzling, CO2 producing jet liner flying to yet another AGW conference)

Well yes and no.

You and I perhaps agree that the message suits our view but the inescapable fact is that the warning was bogus...bogus because it did not come from 11000 scientists, and I need not observe that only climate scientists are able to comment and then only upon their specific research.

Such BS sensationalism and lieing only makes the opponents of the climate change concerns feel that they are right because they have a rock solid example of the lies they have always felt are composite in the climate science.

I don't know how folk can be so forgiving..these fools have destroyed credibility...and rather than denounce them, because they present the acceptable message, the appologies will flow...they lied...denounce them or be grouped with those who lie.

It's rather simple...if you have someone on the team who is counter productive ..get rid of them...and who are these fools..look at their site..mere lieing pretenders.

the Co2 levels have exponentially increased well past the predicted levels which were used as the guide toward the global agreement levels of mitigation.
the only possible solution now is to plant trees
stop burning
eliminate fossil fuel burning

as i mentioned some months back
a large part of the problem is the majority of those who hold the power also hold majority wealth and believe they can simply buy their way to live above all the horrific death and suffering.
the capitalist system of boom n bust defines a need to make a percentage of the society suffer to give wealth to the small minority elite.
this ideology is held and believed in like a dooms-day-cult religion by a large percentage of the population who also control a majority proportion of how things are done.

there is not much to be gained by sitting in the middle of a doomsday cult gathering attempting to de-brain-wash 1 of the cult members

Now what I have just now noticed is a note at the foot of the page...read that..they specifically ask for non scientists...so that confuses me greatly.
Knee jerk assessment...the media has caused the problem...but I am going out and can not devote more time to this...however something is wrong somewhere and I think my concerns are valid irrespective of who claims 11000 scientists ... Let's see if we can find who is lieing.

not to mention the reality of the alerts saying they wont be given evacuation orders, and they wont get fire truck response
because there is not enough emergency fire resources...
and ... if it gets away it will be hundreds of houses burning un challenged blanketing a large metro city in toxic smoke.

thats not just a wild tribes-mins burn off for crop rotation like the tin-foil-hat climate change deniers want to sell like soiled bed linen to bridal couples.

Had a quick look and yes you are right. The site has a number of problems that impinge on credibility even if they are trying to do their best.
My site experience:
  • No lists available. I assume it/they are temporarily off line being edited or complained about etc.
  • Online polls/list/surveys, are notoriously risky because of difficulty in verifying the contributors credentials. ( Misrepresentation, impersonation, etc)
  • If the media had said it was an online survey/poll/list then it would be treated very differently to a "Hard copy" list.
  • If I was a media rep for the ABC or SBS, I would be very careful about how I published, as the credibility of all is at stake.
  • Basically I would give the site about 6/10 credibility.. based on my experience a few minutes ago...
  • Perhaps though if I was in touch the sites main authors my understanding would be different. ( so often web platforms let the authors down)

if it really gets away there will be catastrophic results... not just property either...
Blue mountains are rugged and tinder dry. Most of the bush is Ecalyptus and if intense enough with strong winds a rapidly expanding fire storm is inevitable.

and cant back burn ahead of the front with the wind in the opposite direction

The fire chief was saying they were observing spot fires down wind starting up to 12 kilometers down wind of the fire last week.

you simply cant control that type of situation without being a type 1 civilization weather control science.

Yes back burning is impossible to do safely in the given situation...evacuation is about all that is available if it gets away...and even that is difficult due to terrain and road networks.
BUT the worst thing is that we are still only in Spring time... we have yet to start our summer....and that , for me, raises the greatest concern.
We can only hope I guess that the science is wrong...

I live in NSW and had fires breathing down my neck for the last month. Check the map around Drake, Tabulam and Casino.
I lost a cement mixer and nearly lost one house with the fire coming within meters before it is as controlled. My nephew lost a camper van and a boat and very nearly lost his house...and you will love this..Tony Abbott was at my nephew's house fighting the fire...see we have some clout.
My other house is still under threat I in my crippled state spent most of the last month clearing fuel sitting in a chair..believe me I know.

And I certainly don't want folk telling lies so folk who reject climate science can say, in effect "it's all BS look at how they lied about the 11000 scientists". Am I the only person who can look into beard and see the problem.

Are you so committed that you can tolerate lies in an effort to the support the cause...well I don't get it.

I train to play chess by playing myself and looking at where my opponent has a weak spot..lieing is a weak spot in our cause...

It is you that is accusing them of lying... It is up to you to support you accusation in a way that grants your accusation credibility.
