The scope of this thread has long since breached the original boundaries provided in the opening premise. This thread has now become a showcase rather than a contest.
Post your artwork here and receive the accolades or ridicule that you deserve.
Be strong, young artist, for it is difficult to say which is more detrimental to one's well-being: praise or scorn.

Wouldn't it be cool if we had a little picture contest based on a theme?

Like draw the best picture according to a quote or phrase from popuilar literature, like
"Midway upon the journey of our life
I found myself within a forest dark,
For the straightforward pathway had been lost."

and then the best entry gets a month subscription here....?

But can this contest be open for say 4 months?

Im unable to draw on order, i have to "be in the zone"
or be in "the mood" if you know what i mean?

Nope, If you look closely at the second image you'll see writting on the bottom left side of the image. It is just another persons image that I copied and pasted here. If I didn't tell you you'd never known. That's why this type of "contest" isn't fair to everyone. The idea of the contest is great, it's those who will use these images , like me, that will make it a farce.

Charles, why dont you specify a medium? Figure out something that would prevent people from plagiarizing. How about art samples sent by mail with artist's cignature? College professors use random quotes from students' written work to search out the original sources on internet; I wonder how useful that is and if theres something like that for artwork...

Then there should be rules. A person must be able to show
lets say 5 editions of an image. Showing how the image was
made ,step by step.

Does that sound fair?

To the plagerizers, and those that would make a mockery of it, i guess since i can't live with myself when i unfairly win something, i just assume other people would be honest... so be honest about it.

If anyone discovers plagerism, say so, simple as that.

Medium can be anything visual... how about for images, it has to be a multilayered image digitally signed by the artist in photoshop, and if it's hand drawn, with a signature (their handle) on the bottom.. any other ways are appreciated
 
Yeah, personally I like that better, what was the purpose of the UFO in the first one?

I like the feeling the image gives, well, the scene, adding some kind of action changes the mood of the picture, IMHO

Well, those are single frames of an animation I rendered of that scene. No real reason, other than I had made the saucer and needed a scene to place it in for the animation.

Originally the weird landscape that looks like some kind of alien cemetery came from a... well let’s call it a dream that I had a long time ago. Take a look at the original, kind of a rough draft.
